Sitting back there just means you have very high resolution with shit in the way, and you cant really see the resolution at that distance anyhow ... or at least you wouldnt notice lower res.

I am still running the goofy distro that came with the box. It is amazingly tender to change. I can add repositories to apt, but every update that pulls from a new repo has to be closely watched to make certain that only new files are added. If anything is changed and updated, the system is highly likely to give strange results.

A newer Ubuntu would be the correct path, but my SSD died, and a laptop with less than 3G of storage (total) is not good for very much no matter what OS is running.

I dont know if Italy provides useful appeals that can correct this obviously bad ruling. I just do not feel obligated to feel better, when we may only be fairly even.

yup, my eeepc 901 is as updated as the base distro will let me be, and youtube is about to drop support for that also. If I cared I would put a different linux on it, but loss of youtube access just isnt going to kill me. Many current flash sites wont work at all, without a big declaration of non-support, the boxes just dont do anything.

While I am not sure how Canada works out co-pays, prescriptions, vision and dental, I am certain that around 15000 for me, my wife, and my son was spent last year on our combined needs. Not many serious issues, but we did managed to max out some deductibles. I felt that the care was good, and fast. If the price isnt actually going down or the service getting drastically better, then I am not sure where the benefit to change is on the dollar for dollar argument.

Now when the issue is coverage being dropped unexpectedly, or premiums shooting through the roof because you got sick, the fix is to simply hold the insurance companies feet to the fire... they sold a product that was basically a bet or a gamble, you win some , you lose some. If the citizens played by these rules, then we would get to take our premiums back if we didnt use the coverage... that would get some attention.

Now, from what I have read, the levels do not auto-correct this quickly. Having an American lab find traces of something in the day 2 test is not a shock... the easy conclusion is tampering or mis-handling. If no other labs can show a human scale decline in the markers being observed (days 3,4,5) then there is an issue that should call question into the process that destroys a persons career.

yes. A large reason that the French have not been able to compete from the late 90's until recently is that they actually implemented strong doping controls on their own team members. This doesnt mean that some other riders didnt have greater skill, but it does give reason beyond French jealousy for their attacks on riders from other countries. Now that almost all riders are getting clean or getting caught, we have seen French riders give exciting days and even GC performances for the past few years... most likely at a statistical equivalent of riders from other countries

That said, I still believe Landis as innocent. The removal of the steroids from his system down to normal the next day is too much for me to swallow. The lab has to be impervious to error, or all tests are thrown out. The lab seems to be as accurate as the police who investigated OJ Simpson.
