Nah, they are running off of a VA server. They genereally can't handle more than 1 GET request per day due to the instability of their operating system's kernel.
You are a full blown moron. Entrapment requires the police to entice you to commit an illegal act. Coming to pick up a free TV that you haven't really won has nothing to do with entrapment, dumbass.
Hey, your mom called and asked me to deliver this message: She says if you don't get off your ass and mow the grass, TODAY, she is going to cancel that cable modem. You'd better believe her this time Mr., cause she means business.
I got so fucking confused while trying to read you post that I completely gave up! After the first damn sentence!
You win the 24K gold (plated) CmdrTaco Memorial Trophy. This trophy is given out at random intervals to people who who cannot form proper English sentences. Congratulations again you mumble mouthed son of a bitch.
To this end, look for Microsoft's purchase of PayPal [paypal.com] or some "leading" micropayment shop (perhaps from x.25 land if not.com land) in the next couple quarters
I like it when Microsoft buys other companies, it allows them to spread their strengths over a wider array of people. Luckily they have been able to amass a grand sum of money so that they can afford to purchase virtually any enterprise known to man.
While many may fret over that sort of wide ranging control, I prefer the safety and security of knowing that I have ONE source to contact when I have a question or concern about one of the products or services I buy. I can only hope that Microsoft continues its current trend of extending their services so that I might one day live in the dream of an entirely MS based existence.
If I want a song by a specific artist, I have no choice on where to purchase it, how it will be packaged, or what useless crap will be bundled with it to pad the price
There you have it. The company selling the CD is charging whatever the market will bear. That is how it is supposed to work.
This is not choice
Yes it is, no one forced you to buy the CD. You admit that you merely want the song.
If this is some backhanded way of saying that most music these days is so generic that it is interchangeble within a given genre
It certainly is interchangable but that isn't what I meant. There are dozens of labels out there, many of them aren't RIAA distributed. If you want cheap CDs they are out there to be bought.
Then it obviously wasn't really a Brit, possibly an American faking a Brit accent. Brits are notoriously straight laced and would never sing in public unless drunk (which most Brits usually are after about 4pm) or retarded (which many Brits are due to the leftovers from the bombings most of their cities received during World Wars I and II).
At some point, shouldn't we just look at an organization like Slashdot and just say "Let it die, already."
Slashdot had already become little more than a joke without it being upgraded to 2.2, now to add journals onto that is more insult than anything.
If it were still in its original form, sure... it'd be a great success, and tons of people would post. But with it's currently mangled useability? I can't see it happening.
Obviously you are just pissed off because Britney is giving it up to that guy from New Kids on the Block.
You also ignore the fact that there are throngs following Dave Matthews Band, Phish, and Blue Traveller, just like there were throngs following the Dead. The throngs are smaller because they have split up between several bands, but thats good because it provides 3 opportunities to get good acid and nail wanna be hippie girls per summer. Previously there was only one.
No, I don't recommend listening to Destiny's Child on your ride home. You probably wouldn't notice the difference, what with your furious masturbation and such, but the image of an overweight, middle aged, bearded geek blasting their music from his mufflerless Chevette is just not appealing.
I agree. Its like VCRs, as long as I can get one on the corner of Bosart and 10th street, why go to Best Buy?
If you don't mind being party to outright theft and taking food out of the mouths of the artists, who cares?

I must apologize for my lame attempt to karma whore, then the subsequent attempt to lay a guilt trip on the mods. Please mod me down again, night_flyer is one of my accounts, I am sorry.
Lets take your pimp analogy a little futher shall we?
Take for instance a farmer, corn farmer. He needs a combine but all he has is a tractor. His neighbor, he needs a tractor because all he has is a combine. What they do is they join this thing called a co-op, pay a fee for being members, and the co-op allows them to share equipment. They pay for the service aspect. This seems similar to the Napster subscription model you all like to complain about so lets burn down all the fucking co-ops because they take advantage of all the sorry little farmers.
Come to think of it, you people seem to complain about anything that requires payment. If you figure out how to steal something that costs normal people some reasonable fee, you complain when the owner comes up with a way to stop you. Maybe the real problem is all of you. Maybe the legitimate (non-thieves) should conspire to put you all out of business. Maybe we are, what with the sub $1.00 stock prices all your companies have.
care to elaborate?
Sure. The following t2t (thief to thief) programs suck: Gnutella, FreeWeb, Limewire, Kazaa, Gnucleus, Bearshare, Gnu-anything, etc.
Is that elaborate enough for you?
I use limewire and think it is fine - much better IMO than any version of Napster I ever had
So? So you think Limewire is better than Napster, I think it sucks. We are at a draw at this point.
I'm not going to be paying to use napster, and I don't know anyone that is.
Ok, now that you and your fat assed uncle won't be using it, I can be assured that my searches won't turn up shitloads of Britney Spears files. How will this adversely affect their business again?
I can imagine that you could be spending around $400 on components, but you must certainly be pirating the software. How could you buy components, a copy of Windows ME, and the smallest Office package and still come in under $400? There is now way, you have to be a software pirate.
Mr. Zimmerman thinks that it sucks because it is not available for the Windows platform. He uses Windows exclusively, both at home and at work.

The following text appears to foil the postercomment compression filter.
I believe it was titled "Debian 2.2".

I don't think anyone will.
How are CDs overpriced, you bought them didn't you? If they were overpriced someone would come along and offer a CD at a lesser price wouldn't they?
Your mom prefers Napster as well. We are beating you 11-2 (we are going by weight here).
Also, I am not a troll. I prefer to be described as an advocate of an alternative posting style you intolerant insensitive bastard.

Dammit Taco, just write something else.

Because the free ones all suck? Just like people pay for WIndows, because it is better than anything you can get free.
