"So, now my dream of an exibit of my old work (including the first Woodstock Festival as well as the Vietnam anti-war protests in DC and NYC and Berkeley) in 16x20 and larger is dead?"
What's it been, 30, 35 years? When were you planning on realizing your dream? Or are you too busy masturbating about your own superior negative making skills?
You might be a great photographer and all, but your post makes you sound like a real prick.
"In geosynchronous orbit, for example, they'd receive sunlight 98% of the time."
Well, not really. If you put it in a POLAR orbit, yeah. But a geosynchronous orbit would put the satellites through Earth's shadow once every night. I'll leave the math to you, but there's no reason to use a geosynchronous orbit when you could use a lower altitude higher inclination orbit, and get 100% insolation.
Yep. Apple's selling the most popular and cheapest computer they've ever made, they've got the most popular music player and music download service, and the OS that everybody seems to think they want.
"Is it OK for him to potentially kill other innocent bystanders in the name of protecting himself"
Yes. Absolutely. It is 100% OK to "potentially" do ANYTHING. There are certain things that it's not OK to ACTUALLY do, but "potentially" doing things a) doesn't mean anything and b) is never wrong.
What does a word processor do that Pages does not?
Word's achilles heel is its horrible page layout scheme. It's downright infuriating to get it to do what I want it to do. You might not say that that's not what Word is for, but in that case, what is Word for? Being a text editor?
OK, this is a new one on me.
Lay out the argument for me: What is the link between crime rate and abortion? Because it sounds pretty darn absurd to me...
You're not serious, right?
They work fine. Any USB scroll mouse works great. No drivers, no nothing. Just works.
What, you thought that the right wing had a monopoly on self important pricks? What planet are YOU from?
What took you so long?
Funny you should mention Portland. http://portlandmaps.com/ has lots of freely available GIS data. Very helpful when buying a house.
"Since the patriot act hasn't been as widely abused as some would have you believe"
How do you know? The first rule of investigating people under the Patriot Act is that you don't talk about investigating people under the Patriot Act.
Rather than looking simple and honest, why not just BE simple and honest?
It's simpler.
"Idealistic" is one thing. "Delusional" is something else.
What law has been violated in this case? For that matter, what law has Apple ever violated?
"What about the Segway? They made a big publicity stunt out of being secrative"
Great example. They've sold, what? Four?
Easy, tiger! Nobody's taking away your sacred cow!

You obviously have a very uninformed notion of how big outer space is.

And they're still beleaguered.
Whatever, man.
Bend over. Let's find out.
So, we should just give up? What a cowardly outlook.

Yeah, because it's totally impossible to record sound without using an audio cassette.
And most people who carry licensed, concealed firearms don't go on killing sprees.
Yeah, since he only suffered a punctured lung, he DEFINITELY shouldn't be allowed to defend himself.
Are you saying he didn't die?
Gosh, you're right, it's way better that he just died defenseless.
"Guns don't make the situation any better."
No, but a gun might have made this person less dead.
"You can run from a knife."
Tell that to the dead guy's family.
"Apple might be perfectly happy to get out of the cutthroat low-end side of hardware business."
As indicated by the fact that they've just shipped the cheapest Mac ever.
I'm not sure what your point is, but I'm pretty sure it's wrong.
