What part of "and I don't want the bulk and cost of putting Sirius' radio in my iPod" was unclear to you?
An onboard NIC adds trivial bulk and cost to a laptop. A Sirius radio adds non-trivial bulk and cost to an iPod. Therefore, it is an unattractive FEATURE in my opinion.
Your opinion may differ, and you're welcome to it. I didn't say that you shouldn't buy an iPod with a Sirius radio: I said that I wouldn't buy such a thing.
Just because you don't know how to do it doesn't mean it can't be done.
"can find where to tweak the actual base processes"
Define "tweak the actual base processes", and I bet you a dollar that I can find you a web site that tells you how to do it. I'll bet you another $.10 that that web site starts with http://apple.com/support.
Some people love Macs because, in their opinion, they work better for them.
You might want to be part of a hive mind, but I do not. I make my own decisions, and don't much care what you or "the/. crowd" thinks about those decisions.
"The Gmini has a nice music library and everything, but it is sometimes a pain to scroll through it "
So, except for the fact that it's bad at doing the only thing you bought it to do, it's great!
You're making backhanded comments about how trendy the iPod is (which is totally unrelated to the fact that it works better than anything else out there), and say that your music player really doesn't work very well.
Uh, if it's built in to every iPod, it's a "feature", and one that I don't want.
I love my iPod, but I wouldn't buy one with a Sirius tuner in it. I have zero interest in satellite radio, and I don't want the bulk and cost of putting Sirius' radio in my iPod.
I have the same experience as your parent poster. I use a Powerbook at home, and I talked my GF into an iBook, because I have to fix Wintel PCs all day. I spend zero time administering my computers at home: They work. Period.
I don't want to deal with updating three spyware blockers and my AV software twice a week. I don't want to deal with reinstalling Windows every six months. I have better things to do with my time, like have sex with said GF. (She REALLY likes her iBook.)
There's a PC that we rarely use for games. Most of the time, I leave it turned off. Haven't missed it.
Yeah, because carbon dust from pencil leads is really good in recycled atmospheres. Doesn't give you cancer or anything. You might also note that pencils are pretty flammable in all-oxygen environments.
Shockingly enough, some of the engineers that actually solve these problems are pretty clever.
If I type something into my PDA (which is also my phone) it's available to me basically forever.
Walking through some menus? I don't know what kind of PDA you're using. I just push a button when I'm near my computer, and it works. Look Ma, no wires.
I've gone through four or five PDAs, and haven't lost any data. I've gone through three paper organizers, losing tons of data. Guess which method I like better?
I, on the other hand, am a high-volume reader with zero interest in the physical book (particularly since nowadays they're manufactured so poorly).
Give me a backlit, waterproof, hi-res trade paperback-sized tablet, and I'll never touch another book. I'll buy a scanner that cuts the bindings off of the books I own and digitizes them.
What are you talking about? If it's a simple idea as you allege, you can do it without infringing on their IP. If it's not a simple idea and requires clever engineering (as I suspect is the case) then their price (which is unknown) is more reasonable.
You don't know what AGP was designed to do, do you?
Hint: It wasn't to make Quake run faster.

Do I need to explain even more laboriously?

On your PC, the RAM might be separate from the VRAM, but I wouldn't bet that that is the way the majority of PCs are configured.
Majority of gaming PCs? Sure. Majority of machines sold? I wouldn't bet on it...
Uh, you know that the radiation is hitting you whether you're carrying an antenna or not, right?
Don't worry. Your tinfoil sombrero will protect you.
Why do I need a radio to get music? I don't understand...
Seems to me that paying some jackass to arrange music for me (and I pay with my advertising tolerance or pay with my cash) is not a win.

Well, gee, thanks for sharing.

Wow, with users like you, it's hard to imagine how Linux got the reputation of being pretty unfriendly to work with.
Your post just makes it feel like you're giving me a big, warm hug...
Yeah, you can farm your administration out to your tech-savvy offspring, but Linux doesn't Just Work.
Maybe someday, but not now.
Just because it was designed for embedded systems doesn't mean it was designed well.
Heh. Folders. I remember when I cared what folder my MP3's were in. Ah, the good old days...
Genre tags and smart playlists are the ONLY way to fly.
My GameCube must be the non-kid version. It's silver.
Precisely: Which totally invalidates the hackneyed "Well, the Russians were so smart, they just used pencils!" myth.
Snopes is cool.

If you have a search algorithm that can separate meaning from BS, you have the Keys to the Kingdom. When's your IPO?
Well thanks for chiming in with your opinion. Now I know what I'm supposed to think.
Not.
It's not waterproof, and it's not big enough to scratch my itches.
I've got a Treo 650 that actually does a good job with ebooks, but it's not quite right yet.

Right?
If it's such a simple and terrific idea, build it.
I wonder if it has something to do with having a good, consistent user interface, and some clever marketing.
I don't understand who's peeing in your cheerios. Why does this idea make you so mad? Is it bad that people get value out of it? Should they stop?
