Yeah, in the mean time, the police just keep the tools of his livelihood and smear his reputation. That's totally acceptable as long as he doesn't get 20 years in a pound-me-in-the-ass prison.
OK, you understand that the moon has its own gravity, right? I mean, you have to throw things REALLY REALLY REALLY HARD to get things off the moon to hit Earth, right?
I think you're straining this well-understood military strategy far beyond its breaking point.
I'm not totally sure what a "smacktard" is, so I can't say authoritatively that I am not one. But YOU joined this discussion, which was about both tactical utility and assault rifles.
Yeah, because if Fight Club bags on it, it must not be "cool". Anybody that sells durable furniture for low prices, that some people think is pretty cool looking, must be some sort of evil empire building exercise.
Right.
If you'd really understood Fight Club, you'd understand how silly basing your opinion of anything on Fight Club actually is.
If you're within nine feet of something and need two pistols to kill it, you should have shot it with the biggest rifle you can find from a quarter of a mile away.
If you've never heard an insightful question, you've never been in a classroom where there were people who were smarter than you, and I feel sorry for you.
I'm using WinXP, with MS Intellimouse drivers. Nothing particularly weird. It just ignores the control key and scrolls the page normally. The really weird thing is that this works perfectly in Mozilla, just not Firefox.
I don't care whose T-Shirt you wear, or whose bumper sticker you put on your car. The only thing that matters is your vote. If you sell your vote, or if you are coerced into voting a certain way, democracy is not working.
With a non-secret ballot, what's to prevent somebody from selling their vote? Do you think this has never happened?
The problem changes from manipulating the ballot in secret, to manipulating the ballot in public. There are ways to make the ballot less prone to manipulation, but publishing everybody's vote is not it.
We can build a whole lot of JDAMs and B-2's to carry them for the cost of building a rail gun on the Moon.
So where's the cost-benefit advantage?
The reason that hills are good, is because they are higher in the gravity well than the low ground.
The moon has its own gravity well, so the analogy is flawed.
I do have a passing familiarity with the notion of escape velocity, thank you.
Come here, big guy. Somebody needs a hug.

Nonsense.
We like the moon.
Cuz it is close to us.
We like the MOOOOOOOOOON!
But not as much as a spoon.

Although the modern Palms are more full-featured, the basic applications are just as well laid out. So I would still not classify them as toys.
As for the unprotected screen, well, I always carried my Palm III in a case. There are good cases available for any Palm you might want to use.
For me, this is the killer feature for my email client.
I don't read my email on my Palm, but having to only write down email addresses in one place would be, to say the least, a Good Thing.
I guess I'm surprised this is not a more common feature people look for.
And no, I won't use Outlook. : )
No, but friends make friends read Homestar Runner.
2004 declared to be the Year of Linux!
In other news, beleaguered Apple is about to die...
Oh yeah. And Duke Nukem Forever's going to ship. Real soon now. Promise.
Then a discussion of the tactical utility of two assault rifles is not exactly informed by your experience or your interest.
Right?
Yeah, because if Fight Club bags on it, it must not be "cool". Anybody that sells durable furniture for low prices, that some people think is pretty cool looking, must be some sort of evil empire building exercise.

True, although I personally don't care for the backlight scheme. But the extra RAM is nice.
A used Palm III.
Seriously.
Pocket PC is a toy. Palm is a tool. (in the good sense of the word.)
Er, so therefore, " You will put a lot more rounds on target with one properly aimed weapon than with two shooting from the hip."
Which also applies to poorly aimed pistols.
Fun? Sure. Tactical utility? Zero.
Um, you're wrong.
Imagine the tolerances required for accurate shooting, and then imagine how accurately you can control that "swing".
If you're within nine feet of something and need two pistols to kill it, you should have shot it with the biggest rifle you can find from a quarter of a mile away.
You will put a lot more rounds on target with one properly aimed weapon than with two shooting from the hip.
If you want suppressing fire, get a SAW.
Shouting people down is fine.
Suing them for speaking is not.
Free speech is a bitch somethetimes.
Then we should mod you (-1 Non-specific).
: )
If you've never heard an insightful question, you've never been in a classroom where there were people who were smarter than you, and I feel sorry for you.
Uh huh, because digital cameras are common on people who are willing to sell their vote.
According to the article, it is only necessary to compromise a single computer to adulterate the entire precinct's results.
Which do you think is a bigger problem? Paying directly for a few (or a lot) of votes, or getting whatever results you want from an entire precinct?
Secret ballots are more secure than non-secret ballots. A paper audit trail will be more secure than the "Trust Diebold" method.
Electronic voting can be done well. Diebold (and apparently the other mfrs) do not.
That's what I've got set.
I'm using WinXP, with MS Intellimouse drivers. Nothing particularly weird. It just ignores the control key and scrolls the page normally. The really weird thing is that this works perfectly in Mozilla, just not Firefox.
And configuring this browser...whew. What a PITA.
