An exact temperature is not a useful piece of data. The temperature variation between your location and the location of the sensor (maybe at the airport or the local NOAA station or wherever) is going to be a lot greater than.1 degree. So "About 65 degrees" is just as useful a piece of info as "62.812 degrees" when my question is "Do I need to put on my jacket?"
And there are still people who like analog readouts. Like me.
Wow. I've never in my life been nagged by a personification of a convenient abstraction. How interesting!
And here I thought wearing a watch allowed me to help coordinate my day with other people's. I didn't realize that it made me a slave to some external force.
Anybody who thinks that time isn't important isn't a very good cook.
This just doesn't make sense to me. There are DOZENS of deals out there for free phones. If it has features you don't use, that you didn't pay for, why do you care?
I prefer a GUI because I understand that operating a computer and making marks on a wet clay tablet with a pointy stick are different tasks that might benefit from a different approach.
You shouldn't believe what I say. You should believe what you believe.
The right to privacy was clearly intended in the Constitution. This is a state invasion of privacy. Therefore, I believe our founding fathers would oppose it.
Again: I do not want to live in a state where every single criminal is caught. Not because I am a criminal, but because I do not believe the State should scrutinize my ever action.
I think there should be some sort of Godwin's law corollary that applies to bringing in slavery.
Jefferson would have favored privacy for citizens. Yes, it is despicable that he thought that slaves were not citizens. No, that does not mean that I align myself with slave owners.
You are, by intention or not, trying to marginalize my argument by associating it with racism. Why?
I believe the poster was referring to Boeing SeaLaunch which does indeed involve putting a rocket on a boat (well, a mobile oil platform) and moving it a few thousand miles. (OK, several hundred.)
"More prone"? What does that mean? Black people are "more prone" to crime by that argument. Should we install video cameras in black peoples' homes?
Kiddie porn is a serious crime. However, catching child pornographers should not be a law enforcement carte blanche. No, I am NOT willing to live in a state where law enforcement is sufficiently powerful to prevent all crime.
But the gate counts of a 2 GHz P4 and a 3 GHz P4 aren't radically different.
Could they completely re-do the P3's with a 13 micron process? Sure. It would be obscenely expensive to tool up to do this, and they wouldn't be able to substantially undercut their celeron prices.
I understand how die geometry works (more or less) but I don't think that slower processors will be cheaper enough to make this feasible. Certainly not for Intel.
Want a cheap slow cool processor? Buy from VIA. They work great. Why would Intel or AMD try to compete in that low-margin business?
Now, on the other hand, if you want a not cheap really fast cool processor, buy a G5. Or two. They're small. But that's a different kettle of fish.
I bet that does really horrible things to your processor, though. Make sure your CPU fan is working, or you'll have yourself a little tiny Chernobyl under your desk.
I remember answering the phones at Origin and telling people to download MOSLO to get Wing Commander to run properly on their P-60's. Now, if they had a Gravis UltraSound, they were pretty well not going to get any music ever. *wistful sigh*

Advertising is ALL ABOUT what other people do: Namely, buy your product.
What could it possibly be, other than that?
OK, so you aren't in the market for a new phone.
I do not understand. Why are you complaining?
Wow. I've never in my life been nagged by a personification of a convenient abstraction. How interesting!

What is original about something that comes out of a different kind of printer?
Seems like you could number laser printer copies just as easily.

Does that make me a member of Homo Superior?
I bet you don't like people who call them "legos" either.

Uh, it was an allusion. Allusions don't have to be only to source material related to the discussion at hand.
So, nothing.

Yeah, the Sarcasm Express just blew over your head at about Mach 2.
Way to miss the Pulp Fiction reference, vato.
The xBox is popular? What an interesting perspective.
No, it's not, because if that were true, you wouldn't need an oxidizer.
I believe the poster was referring to Boeing SeaLaunch which does indeed involve putting a rocket on a boat (well, a mobile oil platform) and moving it a few thousand miles. (OK, several hundred.)
You don't. I do. The Founders would probably agree with me. The current courts would probably agree with you.
Guess I'm living in a dream world.
Uh, "after conducting a proper investigation."
Cops catch bad guys all the time. It's their job.

Chicks with dicks?
It all comes back to hermaphrodites.
No, there really DOESN'T need to be public scrutiny and debate.
If people are doing illegal things in cyber cafes, arrest them after conducting a proper investigation.
If people are not doing illegal things in cyber cafes, leave them the fuck alone.
The second set is far bigger than the first set, and needs to not be surveilled by government fiat.
You totally fail to see the point.
If the shop owner wants to surveil, that is their right and privilege.
When the government mandates it, it is (IMO) unconstitutional. (by unreasonable search and seizure)
I am a law abiding citizen.
I care if I am being monitored.
QED.
Can't curl, but can swim...Stickly Prickly that's him.
Can curl, but can't swim...Slow and Solid, that's him.
Poor Painted Jaguar should have listened to his mother, who was graciously waving her tail.
Boy, I love this story.

MOSLO to the rescue!
