Very little of the heat from re-entry is from friction.
What?
How is very little of the heat from friction? No, seriously, explain this to me. All I've ever been shown is that at 15,000mph and a little bit of air molecules means that you'll have heat because of the friction of the air against the shell of the shuttle....
I believe digitalgroove is a waste of space. Thus far, there is little proven benefit to its being and the risks seem to greatly out weigh the gains. Is it important for digitalgroove to exist? I have no clue. Is it important to maintain the fate of digitalgroove? Absolutely! Are there billions of french fries spent on digitalgroove that culminate in little to no tangible results and / or benefit? Yes! Do the math....
Kinda makes sense. My wife bought a brand new phone right before the buy-out. We were both on AT&T, but a new phone appealed to me (probably get a new phone every 3 years) so I switched over to the Cingular network.
Her old phone supports GSM, and is currently doing so in the old AT&T environment. In fact, it's now using the "cingular" towers (says cingular when she connects to a tower in the area...) However, whether it's just her phone, or the towers, it doesn't get as good of a signal as mine.
Still works pretty well, overall. What sucks even more (getting back to the "supports GSM" statement) is that Cingular will not transfer the phone over to their plan. They require her to buy a new phone.
The name of the service you're looking for is w32time.
I happened upon it because I wanted to set up my w2k boxes at home against an internet time server. If you stop the service (net stop w32time), you can configure it using the net time command (google it - my batch script for setting my home pc is at home...) then you net start w32time to get it rolling again. You can set it against an NTP server as well....
I have recently had trouble with my WindowsXP media box getting the proper time, so I set it against one of the NIST servers.... works like a champ!
A lot of people also don't see the need for taxes, since it doesn't impact their lives in any way that they can see "directly." Fortunately, there are those of us who know better.
(note: not saying the tax system is perfect, just making a general point..)
You know, it's interesting to find someone who's willing to follow a conversation on a place such as slashdot, where the clientelle sometimes seems... immature?
What's funny for me is that I've not caught a virus since the old days of the 486/pentium...
It was a bootsector virus, and turns out that 99% of my floppies actually had the virus. Was before I started running AV programs on my 2 machines (a lot back then, for a piddly college student). Turns out that I probably received the viruses from school computers...
My Linux file server kind of caught a virus one time, though. Myself and 2 other friends were VPNd at the time - it turns out that one of them had a girlfriend that had a virus that would put fake.bin files on all network shares, attempting to fill them up..... From now on, I secure my fileshares.... if not just for auditing points.
Actually, my PS1 console is "modded". Some of the later capcom games actually will not run on it - it detects the modchip, and throws up some garbage in japanese.
Probably stating that it's detecting the wrong country code.
So, in my case, if I were to trade in my console, it might appear to work on their "test" game, but if the subsequent buyer of the console attempted to play any more recent capcom games, it would freak out with that screen......
You just sold me on buying one just to wear at WalMart.
Just so I can piss you off further.
But seriously, why does this upset you? I know I've seen people with the earpiece in, and while I think it's a little silly - especially since they're not on a call, it's just an earpiece.
Another vote for one of the most difficult games I'd played on the NES: Ghosts and Goblins.
Holy hell. Talk about a bad first game to get for the NES... every game I played after that seemed like a breeze. I don't ever recall beating Ghosts and Goblins until I got into the computer / emulation era, with savestates....
I don't think that made the game "good", but it definitely tested your patience.
Oh yea, had a friend beat Hydelide (sp?) once. That game was booooooring...
Come to think of it, there were quite a few horrible games for the NES, even for the technology back then.
Can you describe a typical day at your firm? How might this differ from other organizations?
After the first year of training, examiners are on a production quota system in which, depending on grade level and complexity of the technology examined, they are given a certain amount of time to do an average application.

But seriously, prove me wrong. I like learning!

You have a very good point.

On the other hand, don't tell me to take things lightly when I find them funny.
You better watch it. Next thing you know, they'll be getting you a Vanilla Ice CD for Father's/Mother's Day.
Or mebby Snow.
...?
o...k....
I thought it was funny, yes. And to be honest, your opinion really doesn't count to me.
*whoosh*
joke. ha ha. funny.
Don't take this place so seriously.

That could cause problems.
You must be new here.
Actually, I would think "World Class" would mean the terminal would scream at you if you had an issue:
:)
"HEY, YOUR HARD DRIVE IS FUCKED!"
That would truly rock. Instead, today you can only sift through "/dev/hda: device not ready" errors in the logs...
My father used to sell Electrolux vacuum cleaners
That must have sucked.
As an aside, the worker was spending his days urinating in the A-B stills.
But A-B couldn't definitively prove that it was him making their beer taste like piss, so they had to fire him for drinking a competitor's product.
Rumor has it that someone is still pissin' around in the plant.....
Aw, cmon.
One more time.
"I think he's talking about hot atmospheric plasma leaking INTO the gaps formerly occupied by the filler..."
Best to stick with 3M.
:)
No pun intended?
Disclaimer: I work for soft-core crypto company ;-)

So does that mean you work for the "Spice Channel" of the Crypto industry???

Exactly, what the hell?
In addition, if that was being broadcast to all the team members, I would have started a kick vote.. for the love of God, that was annoying.
I don't see too many kids in the UT2k4 assaults anymore..... and I like it...

women that liked to dance).

Was that a joke? 'cause if it was, I want to know the punchline behind that one....
