They were intrested in DI (delay insensitive) methods because even if you have a very slow transistor the design will still work and if you dont go through the tranny then it will work at full speed.
There are currently millions of old phones which people would not be seen dead with. I don't own a working phone just pay per use ones which my friends didn't want. The cool thing is they still get free messages.
Anyway I did strip a philips phone and connected all buttons and I/O pins to a FPGA and microprocessor.
When the message comes in the ringer wire flips so you start driving the buttons to get the message. The message is the output to the LCD so i connect the lcd wires to the FPGA which latches the message.
There are lots of webstes that allow you to send free SMS messages. A bit of pearl and lego and you have yourself remote controlable car.
I can recognise when the message comes in but I still need to work on decoding the LCD screen by looking at the wires. For the time being the car drives on requests directly from the internet reather than from the phone.
I wanted to make a processor board like this. Its real cheap components and would be great to program. I made a nice univrsal graphical debugger which can be used for any processor board and wanted to try it out with other architectures (other than ARM and MIPS).
If anyone has an old 8008 or anything simmilar please send it me and Ill make a board for it.

In the UK someone got convicted for redistributing radio over the web.
Anything else comes to the courts the judge is giong to look at this case and say wrong. There is a link here.
What will happen is that Nvidia only develops the standard DirectX compilers and leaves it open for anyone else to do the others.
This keeps Micro$oft happy as they will get the best drivers at the same time as not insulting the OpenGL community.
They do NOT want every one else to turn their back on Nvidia.
Although most of the customers use M$ most of the poeple that advise them dont. I advised tons of people as to what they want in their PC and I base the advice on how "nice" the company is.
They cant have a big battery so the processor would have to be well power efficient.
We are working on asynchronous logic which uses loads less power and can cope with power fluctuations. I did have the idea of charging a cap a few seconds before a computation is required so you can use a low power battery. And asynchronous allows it to still work if the voltage drops to something really low when the cap is drained.

They are doing this quite well so that anyone who speaks out against this will be slapped for being unpatriotic. No one dares to say things like "The army killed loads of innocent people on your behalf" because that is not what people want to hear. They want to hear how great their nation is and what good things its doing for the world.
I don't want to hear how every pair of trainers is made by some 7 year old in a country in debt to the WTO. I wanna hear how my country is fighting for freedom and justice.
I'm Polish and I've lived under communism most of my life. My girlfriend is Chinese I also work with several Chinese who are here in the UK for a few years studying before going back.
I absolutely agree but the fact that the government stops the people from seeing the bad news makes people want it more. In the US no one wants to know what evil acts are done on their behalf.
