Your environment/variables would be saved with the program data on that cassette. How convenient!
Loved that Sinclair - But mine was the Timex 1000

STAR WARS
V (I have the first few episodes on LD and the last few ina LD box set)
Moon Shot (from the Turner Network)
Split Second (Rutger Hauer)
Do they have any Rush concerts or videos on DVD yet?
I still have Exit Stage Left on Beta!:-)
I have all the concerts and the "video" compilation on LD.
Windham Hill Live LD (Michael Hedges!)
I can name MANY MANY more that I cannot find on DVD yet.... I own well over 300 LD's...

Count me as another of the "many"...
I downloaded some Albert Collins tunes on a whim. I remember seeing him at River Blues Festival in Philadelphia before he passed away. The recordings I downloaded from Napster were fabulous. I did a Google search to reveal Alligator Records web site, went there and bought EVERY Albert Collins album on the site.
Cold Snap [1986] Don't Lose Your Cool [1982] Frostbite [1980] Frozen Alive! [1981] Ice Pickin' [1979] Live In Japan [1984]
I also "re-discovered" a tune I hadn't heard in a long time from Kinsey Report. Wasn't sure. Checked out Napster (well gnapster anyway) and sure enough, someone had it for me to listen to. It was the same recording I remembered buyin on a cassette from that River Blues show that is now long lost. So, now I bought that album and another too!
Edge Of The City [1987] Midnight Drive [1989]
I love Napster. I think of it as "on demand radio". I called Alligator's phone line to place the order and I made sure to mention that I probably would not have bought all these CD's if it weren't for Napster...
>Even better, where are the genius record > companies when you're looking for a place to > _buy_ your MP3's? Nope, I can't find ane MP3's > for sale on Metallica's website. Well gosh darn, > instead of crying, DO SOMETHING!
I TOTALLY agree with you on this. I should be paying for what I'm downloading unless it ends up in a purchase then I should get credit for the MP3 I bought.
I have no idea what method of distribution is right, but I do think there is a better way...
Frankly - I'm quite happy with my letterboxed, Dolby Digital LaserDisc edition of Phantom Menace I just received 2 days ago! It friggin blows away that VHS tape I've been watching all last week! The video is quite stunning and even the ProLogic portion of the sound is better IMHO. The Dolby Digital... ROCKS!!! DVD? LD? Got 'em both.... The same to me....
I'm sorry, but for all you KDE'ers and GNOME'ers, you have got to simply WORSHIP OS/2's PM desktop. It is the BEST. Object oriented DnD Desktop.
If they ever open sourced that puppy it would SLAUGHTER what is out there now. (Granted I'd rather see it merged with KDE... but that's another idea....):-)

Neither of those OS's are good at everything, but the combination of the two really leaves you no reason to run Linux anywhere.
I got 2.3.50 working just great on Slackware 7. Holy crap what a difference there was in NFS. I NFS mount SCO servers. It went from slug-like to lightning! I plan on building me up a Slackware 7/Xfree86 4.0/Linux 2.3.51 system this weekend. Woohoo....
Stereo Review's Sound & Vision - Feb/Mar 2000 P 134 - Multimedia Maven Edited by Michael Antonoff "Pocket Music" section "Unlike the company's Memory Stick Walkman which must first convert MP3 files into Sony's ATRAC 3 format, the Music Clip accepts either format via a USB cable from your computer."
The files on the web site are in Sony's ATRAC 3 format too.
Remeber first that these are not MP3's, but Sony's ATRAC 3 format like their Mini Discs and such... Does anyone know if this format is proprietary? Anyway, there is a review in my latest stereo/video rag that states that MP3's have to get converted to ATRAC before getting uploaded to the player. MP3 - Lossy Compression ATRAC - Another Lossy Compression Make a copy of MP3 and re-compress it. How good does it sound to you?
I'll 2nd that (or 3rd, or 4th...).... The only games I play anymore are Unreal Tournament (only on Linux!), Starcraft, and Thief.
I'd love to see Thief II come out for Linux, but I think I have about played Thief Gold to death and would care about a port of that. I hate keeping my Wintendo around just for this stuff. I use Linux all the time except for these games.
I still have to get off my butt and get Quake 3 for Linux. The demo looks AWESOME!
I would almost demand that Diablo II come out for Linux. I was missing that game not too long ago and broke it out for kicks. I am drooling for that Diablo II release. If they had a Linux port, I could almost remove WinDOS all together!!!
Napster is done....
Nothing to see here people... Move Along!!!

If you are impatient, get the LaserDisc version.
:-)
:-)
I am still basking in the THX glow and the Dolby Digital 6.1 soundtrack for the Phantom Menace!
The original THX editions and the "Special Editions" of 4, 5, and 6 look and sound (DD again but 5.1) quite nice too on LaserDisc.
DVD's are cool, but I take what I can get!
It probably has a LaserDisc AC-3 RF input too, at that price range.... Nothing like the Phantom Menace on LD in 6 channel AC-3 :-)
Well then, what do you owe your company.
Two weeks notice - HEH - just leave!
STAR WARS :-)

where, I searched Linux Today and SCO's site.
Provide a link, please...
SCO has excellent software RAID. I've been using it at my company for 5 years. I tried Linux's software RAID. Linux came nowhere near in comparison.
I have a problem right now! Digiboard EPC/X ISA cards are not supported on Linux but ARE on SCO.
Me too - maybe it still works because I never once touched WinDOS software?!?! :-)

And how about when Public Enemy was forced to remove their song in MP3 from their site by their record label!! Let's not forget that one!

Oh man, that is unfortunate!!!
SLACKWARE RULEZ!!!

It is also out on LD (i.e. disc).
Looks and sounds great!

Does Windoze NT have USB support?
You are behind the times.
I've been running 2.3.99-pre3 for about a week!
It runs really SCHWEET!
I believe that Slackware is now kept at ftp.freesoftware.com
It has all to do with all the Walnut Creek and the BSD merger stuff...
