Sigma Phi Delta - International Social Fraternity of Engineers - founded Arpil 11, 1924.
We've been around for some time now. Open to all engineers and computer scientists, and occaisional students of other sciences, upon approval by National.
I was a member of Alpha chapter, at Univ. of Sothern California, in Los Angeles - you might recognize us from the #1 spot in the BCS. Fight on!
We have chapters in Canada, as well, and we recently got a chapter in Bangladesh! I enjoyed my time at the house, and encourage you to look into our fraternity. Even if there isn't one at your University, we are always looking to expand the brotherhood, so you could start a new chapter yourself! (Can you tell I was Rush Chariman?)
ConstitutionalRepublic: 1. A political order whose head of state is not a monarch and in modern times is usually a president. 2. A nation that has such a political order. 3. A political order in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who are entitled to vote for officers and representatives responsible to them.
Democracy: 1. Government by the people, exercised either directly or through elected representatives. 2. A political or social unit that has such a government.
The recession that we theoretically came out of after 9/11, was only bolstered by the auto-makers' huge deals. W/o those, the economy was still in the crapper.
Except for the hdd based palyers that are hardwired, and use WiFi to xfer music, my 10-disc CD/MP3 changer is the best solution I've seen. I carry around about 115hrs of music with me constantly. It's nice having all of 50Cent, 2Pac, and Eminem's stuff ride along with Garbage, and Audioslave. It's a little mini-melting pot, and it only cost me $110 and the time to install it.
...is four feet smaller than a Mini Cooper (you can park two in a standard parking spot)...
That is a good thing? Uh... not when I'm 6'5".
People can bitch at me all they want, but when a truck is the only thing I fit in, there is no other option, until I can afford my 28mpg 'Vette... <meanness>I guess if the hippies weren't so malnourished from not eating meat, they might have grown up, too.</meanness> I've driven a Civic, and it's just beyond uncomfortable (not to mention it cuts the seating down to 3, b/c noone can sit behind me).
HardOCP has always been presented as Kyle & Co.'s opinions on the hardware/software comunity. If it suddenly got 'professional', it wouldn't be the same site, and it would lose readership. You're way off-mark on this one.
This isn't news at all. This was known the same day that it happened. LM said so in their original press release - an engr hadn't check that the satelite was secured before rotating it.
Aerielink (Soyo) router. (~$60, incl. USB-WiFi used by other computer)
Before the router I ran Tiny Personal Firewall (now Kerio PF), and loved it (free and better than Zonealarm or BlackICE, for my needs). Also had Norton AV for a while, but it was just 'eh', and isn't free.
Plenty of room for cards - credit, membership, ID and business. A cash holder of good size. And a plastic covered area to display an ID w/o removing it.
Except that the computer industry's planned obsolescence is even shorter than the motor industry's.

Odd that "touching is good", when the thing has wireless capabilities. Hehe.

Dictionary.com find no difference in the two:
Constitutional Republic:
1. A political order whose head of state is not a monarch and in modern times is usually a president.
2. A nation that has such a political order.
3. A political order in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who are entitled to vote for officers and representatives responsible to them.
Democracy:
1. Government by the people, exercised either directly or through elected representatives.
2. A political or social unit that has such a government.
So, it would seem, the US is both.

Uninformed voters are the burden, and we don't need more of them.
-bZj
That they were moving towards it already has no effect on my comment, but it is interesting to note.
-bZj
Glad I'm not the only one to notice that.

Sent ya one.

Not following along, were we?
I use a CD-changer, not a hdd-based player.
Thanks for playing, though,

Only newbs would call anything started before 2002 a 'blog'. He runs a hardware review/news aggregation site - no more, no less.
The fact that he has branched out should in no way change the original intent of HardOCP.com.

Hilarious stuff on there.

There was no anonymity involved. HardOCP is run by Kyle, and he said therse things on his front page.
And 'justifying' the word 'sucked' is near impossible, since, unless you're talking abotu a suction device, it's obviously an opinion.

So then you're saying this is not a story to be posted to Slashdot at all? And neither was the last article about it?
:^)
I agree, but don't dog me for commenting on it.

My friend called this before GMail had much going for it at all. He's an insightful one.

Bi-fold is best, tri-fold was OK.

I mean, how much time do you spend in there? Jeez. Get a watch or something.
Well, it's obviously posted by a woman, so you never know....
-bZj
Yup, there's my chauvinist generality for the day.
Interesting that should be pointed out, since the military is more likely to be Republican-leaning.
