Not having voted with the metal poking object, I don't know for sure, but I'm not sure if you can check for chads after you vote or not. Anyone from a hanging-chad-county here to fill us in? And being in a hurry can also mean being considerate to the people who may be waiting in line behind you . . .

Here's what I picture - you vote on a computer, perhaps with a touchscreen, at the present polling site. You go through, and vote for all your choices, then at the end you can go through and check to make sure you voted for all the right people. After this, I'm torn as to what should happen next. I'm thinking either you print out the ballot and turn it in and counting goes much like it does now, but with no hanging chads to trip you up or they get sent over a LAN (ok this is a little online, but not on the internet) and are automatically, electronically counted. Either way I think there should be a federally mandated ballot system, so we can at least blame the fed. gov't if something goes wrong!!
Unfortunately it's NOT a pencil and paper in Florida. You have to use an ancient metal poking device to poke a hole through the circle next to your candidate's name. You run the risk of not knowing if you poked the hole properly or if you left a "hanging chad" - especially if you're in a hurry. How crappy is that? MY state had a pencil and paper ballot, and I have to wonder why Florida didn't use that. It's not mechanical I guess, but it is pretty archaic and difficult to use.
As incredible as it sounds, even though AOL owns Netscape, they have agreement with M$, so IE is packaged in AOL. I guess since this agreement predates the acquisition of Netscape, it's not a big thing, but I would have thought Netscape would have pushed for their browser being packaged with AOL as part of the buyout deal. Oh well, just a little quirk, and further advances the question of just who will use Netscape.
Well, I don't live there, but I know I didn't have to sign my name on the ballot, they just checked me off their little list when I came to the polling site.
HEY! I still have my Game Gear!! I don't play it, but NBA Jam for Game Gear kicks ass! I think I have spent more overall time playing that game than any other! All the Sonic games were good also. I don't think ANY game (except tetris) can be played acceptably on a black/green and white screen. Anyone with me??
Also check out the latest issue of "Red Herring" magazine with the picture of Gore and the tite 'E-Gore' - it's all about tech and he seems to know what he's talking about.
I am also not upgrading. For a while I stayed at 2.0 beta 3 because it had a better resume feature than the newer betas, and because then newer ones were more invasive. Then, all of a sudden while signing on with beta 3 it went into an auto-update, which I obviously did not want, so I had to go back to original version 2.0, which has worked fine. (well, except the college I'm at blocked napster so I'm using scour now, but that's another matter)

Actually it seems you haven't followed the case much, because Emmanuel repeatedly stated on his radio show exactly what that quote said. They might not have said it in court (I don't have the time to read all the transcripts) but they did say it privately. They repeatedly have said something like "If you a DVD, you have a right to do pretty much whatever you want with it, except give away or sell copies."
I KNOW Emmanuel has said this multiple times.

7. The Senate race was not aligned in two columns.

Considering altavista just won its case against "typosquatters" atlavista.com and the like, don't be so sure!!

There wasn't, but I made one just now. I have 2.0, 2.0b3, 2.0b5, 2.0b6, and 2.06b7 install files posted at http://www.cord.edu/homepages/jc and ers/napster/
