    What if the copy decides you're the one who's is not the real you and should be destroyed?


    That's why we have laws against murder, and treat all human beings regardless of origin the same. What would we do if one identical twin decided that the other was the copy, and should be destroyed?

    Well, neither country would shift 100% to boys or girls, the ratio would only be 4 girls:3boys in the US and 4boys:3girls in india, which interestingly enough is very close to accurate for the two mentioned countries.

    Sure, I can just picture Europe standing up to us when we take down their billboards. Our space program can reach any billboard they could put up and then some. Whereas on the other end of the process, their military includes the french.

    The idea with social spending is not to give people money they haven't earned, but rather to pay back our failure as a society to protect and serve some of our weakest members. We force everyone (with guns in the hands of our police) to play by our rules, but in many cases we fail to teach the rules, and fail also to help people become a productive part of our society. Social spending attempts to redress that, and it is of course the hope of social spending to end the suffering of the underclasses by allowing the next generation to be fully participating just like you are.

    Try to imagine where you'd be in life if it had been so unsafe at your school that you had not even finished high school, and in addition hadn't been taught the skills necessary to rectify that situation by your parents or your society.

    Free will is a myth, but it doesn't matter because we can't do anything about it. So imprisoning people for acting in their predetermined ways makes perfect sense, because we have no choice about it.

    The part where you go wrong is where you believe that black woman + black man = black child. It's not true every time, and it's true less often then anti-social father + anti-social mother = anti-social child. I didn't claim it wasn't 'true' just that it wasn't as well established.

    There are actually a number of studies on this, including identical twin studies which are very convincing about the genetic predisposition to antisocial behavior.

    It actually works really well. The thing is, with a one megahertz processor you might get the right result in one try. With a 3 gigahertz processor you try it 3000 times and take an average. Believe me, the more correct string will take slightly longer on average over that many attempts, regardless of cache state etc etc.

    It's usually really just the first uploader who does something that calls for civil penalties. Later downloaders and uploaders are often just dealing with files that don't even contain a copyright notice.

    Even with statistics, flying vs driving is left unclear, you need to get clarification on whether the 100 car drivers and 10 pilots were incompetent, because you can control for your own incompetence in the experiment with driving, but not with flying (typically).

    There are still plenty of opportunities for evolution. A significant fraction of our population still dies before reproducing. Consider what is likely happening to the following genes:

    The gene(s) that makes some young males race cars at dangerous speeds, causing significant numbers of pre reproduction deaths.

    The gene(s) that make some people sign up for the military, and die in foreign wars.

    The gene(s) that make people become research scientists, and miss the opportunity for reproduction because they are too devoted to their careers.

    Generations getting taller has more to do with nutrition during the growth years than with evolution. A growing percentage of the population is well fed during the growth years.
