A few of the Ivy's (not sure about all, but it may be) do not give loans at all. At Princeton if you make 65k/year or less, you will be 100% covered for tuition, fees, room and board. Heck, a family of 4 making 100k would only pay 5k for Princeton.
I'm sorry, that still doesn't hold water. If I saw chips on the shelf of my local supermarket that said MAY ONLY BE EATEN WITH OFFICIAL DIP I'd have no doubt that it was unenforcable bullshit. Insanity
But, if those chips tated awful unless a special chemical in the "official dip" initiated a reaction, you can't complain to the manufacturer if they still taste like crap if you don't use the official dip, or you use a 3rd-party dip.
Then after eating your awful tasting chips you go around telling everyone how awful they are, but not attributing the awfulness to your own usage of the non-supported dip, potentially hurting the manufacturer's reputation with customers.
That's why I prefer the local sub shop or pizzeria to say a Subway or Domino's. I don't want the exact same thing each time. I want the preparer's mood to play into it. Sometimes you get some extra meat, sometimes some more toppings (sometimes less too). Variation spices things up.
No, not "when you buy a computer", but rather "when you buy a computer from XXX" where XXX doesn't give you the option of not selecting an OS. Simply buy from somewhere else.
If Pizza Hut sold ONLY pizza's with pepperoni, they don't HAVE to sell me one without pepperoni just because I don't want pepperoni.
You don't really need a phoneline. I haven't had my phoneline plugged in for over 190 days (it gives you a message about it) on any of my DirecTiVo boxes (4 of em).
Yes, the problem was solved, but *how* does that fix get propogated to the masses. And I don't mean the techno-savvy masses - I mean my brother who I set up with Linux. He's not going to be patching his kernel, I can tell you that. He doesn't even know what a kernel is. Is an "auto installable" patch available for all the distributions? If not, then who cares how fast it was found and that a "patch" fix was available. When will the fix that ANYONE can easily install be available?
Yeah, but [most] people aren't *selling* their HTML pages. I learned HTML from viewing the source of pages I liked. Now I can make pages using the stuff I learned, however it is not making me any money, nor taking away any money from the creators of the original pages. However, If I get the source to an applocation and am able to use fragments, ideas, etc. from it to make and SELL a competing product, why would the creator of the original make his source available? It does nothing but harm him.
Not flaming either, but any explanationfor the "a Windows based PC is *not* a real HTPC"? A Windows based system has the stuff you need, and you say yourself the Linux drivers for that card aren't up-to-par, and that there are very few DVD players.. I'd say a Linux-based PC is *not* a real HTPC in this case, no? (and yes, I run Linux.. Windows too. I use the tool that gets the job done).
Wouldn't it be more akin to having a GE refrigerator and wanting to put a non-GE "replacement" part in it, say the ice maker. Should GE have to use a "standard" connection for ice makers so someone could replace it with another non GE one?
Now someone can make a replacement (a la the old Norton Desktop for Windows or something), but GE doesn't have to support it, nor give the dealers selling it the option of including it with the original purchase..
Everyone wants the software and the service to be free, but a company isn't going to stay in business that way.. so they partner with other companies who pay them money to attach spyware and adware and whatever-else-ware.
If its free and from a commercial entity, you have to expect stuff like this. Free does not translate to a sound business model..
I've been programming professionally for 14 years. I don't have any code out in the public domain or out there as Open Source. So not I'm not a "programmer"..?

Outlook will use Word as the email editor if it is present (I belive its the default if it finds it).

But you can't distribute Templates/Jigs you create with the TemplateMaster tool...

That shows Apache leading over IIS/PWS, not Linux leading over Windows.
We run Apache at work, but its not on Linux.
Except if they want to get an abortion..
How sad. Want an aspirin? Gotta call the parents.. want an abortion? Lets go..
puts "Hello, world!"

TCL owns.
If they made it, people would expect it for free, so why bother..
Uh, after Version 3, JBuilder was rewritten in Java.
I hate when they take away my ability to do illegal things.
ASP Message boards: Snitz
A company having the gall to charge money for their services!? What are they thinking?
Of course Apache has been considered beta under windows until just very recently..

Just got back from the Ziegfeld showing.. Much better than Episode I.
..and Natalie.. (she's legal now!)

Please.. No wonder you posted Anonymously.
and it's one of the best looking HDTV shows on the air IMO.
