    most criminals are dumb. its just that unless its a violent crime most times the cops ignore you if you're a loner. once you set up an organization that starts costing businesses a lot of money you get noticed.

    the people involved are dumb

    EVERYTHING is tracked
    if you're a checkout drone everything is tracked. everyone knows which purchases you ring up. if there is a rash of CC fraud the first thing people will do is look in the computer for similarities and guess what, they will find that by some strange coincidence 20 different compromised CC cards were used to make purchases by the same cashier. or at the same restaurant or whatever.

    Other than interstate commerce the media companies make use of public airwaves and government backed loans at lower rates and they do business with the government by selling content to us military stations and military housing on military bases

    i've stayed in the all-suites hotels in vegas. the rooms are a lot nicer and the best part is the soaking bath tub.

    its foreign to a lot of slashtart basement dwellers and 20 somethings who are only out to get drunk and pass out, but when you are in vegas with a member of the opposite sex its very nice to sit together naked in a nice tub for a long relaxing bath before/after a romantic evening

    So? for techincal users this will be easy to undo

    for people who just want a computer like they want a toaster this will mean the software they install has been checked for malware. this using the computer thing like a manual transmission was cool 20 years ago but at this point people just want to use the software on it and don't care about the monkey work

    you don't understand how SAP works. it takes you years of testing and custom coding just to deploy it. patching and upgrading are hellish experiences

    we have IT people working from hundreds of miles away and it works out

    There are lots of people having kids these days, i've read its like the 50s baby boom. both parents work but need to pick the kids up from school/day care.

    if you really want to lure people other than onsite child care have a flexible work schedule allowing people to work from home. there is very little that i cannot do from home and a lot of times i'm more productive at home than in the office.

    RIM's sales are actually dropping now, not just a smaller piece of a larger market. they are now burning cash

    RIM was good for email, that's it. app world sucked.

    MS Exchange email is much better on my iphone and droid. i usually get the full email and not a fragment. i can read large emails in the NYC subway.

    and my iphone has apps. yesterday my wife was worried that the kid's heart was beating too fast. no worry, there is an app for that. i measured his pulse and it was OK

    oh, and most iphone apps work outside of BES/network connectivity

  19. easy, make your own shapes, colors, dimensions and game play. instead of falling have them come in from all directions.

    there have been so many Sim City/Civilization clones over the years and each one has been unique. it just takes a little work

    do it like the USA did with China. give them MFN status along with tax breaks for US companies to set up manufacturing and other low level operations there. its already happening in parts of africa

    China was like africa not to long ago. except that i think a lot more people starved in china than in africa. tens of millions in the last century. you can thank clinton, foxconn and apple for giving them jobs outside a farm

    animals "own" land as well. predators have their own personal hunting territories they will fight for. vegetarians will fight for the best spots. the biggest deer, moose, elk or whatever will push/beat a weaker member of the tribe from any spot he wants to eat at

    people just use paper and computer databases
