    any elite program in any field is geared towards people who have a passion in that field by their teen years. not for someone who doesn't know what they want to do. all the elite CS programs are geared to people who make the jailbreaks and roots for mobile phones. not the people who download them and think they are cool.

    in the apollo program everything was done on paper. today my iphone has more computing power than the mainframes of the day. it took them years to build and test the LEM, today most of this testing can be done in days using computers

    the phone company has never had the ability to service 100% of their customer base at the same time. it's been proven for decades every time something happens you get an all circuits are busy message if too many people try to call

    the advertised bandwidth is not full internet bandwidth but up to your CO. BT you still have their internet gateway while netflix and other big companies use CDN's to stage their data inside the ISP's network so there will always be preference for some data

    there are laws for this but it costs more to file lawsuits to defend your rights in court than pay to register a few thousand domains

    Apple already sends a lot of the SiRi search outside of google. If a lot of smaller data companies sign up to be apple partners then google will lose a lot of search traffic. or at least a lot of the good and profitable search traffic

    if you buy a $3000 Enterprise Developer license then you can publish your apps directly to your organization's idevices. Apple even has detailed instructions how to do it

    wind turbines, solar panels, bio fuels will be the big money makers in the near future. it's not like these things will be made by fairies and given away free. no one wants to drill for oil in the US and the easy arab oil is almost gone so it's time to sell "green" because the return on investment numbers are favorable now. just like when oil became cheaper than whale oil.

    of course the idiots will buy the climate change nonsense which ironically most of the charts say the warming trend started around 1815 right after a big volcanic explosion caused a 2-3 year cold spell

    apple actually gives you a lot of value with new versions of iOS. iOS 4 was a huge camera improvement. iOS 5 is free texting to any iOS device.

    the free 3GS phones have iOS 5 so that a family can buy the good ones for mom and dad and the cheapo ones for the kids and kill the texting plan

    they earned money, that was in the past. they are now predicting they will lose money for all or most of 2012

    no one cares about prior earnings, it's the future estimates. wall street prices stocks based on 2 years of future estimates. this year netflix screwed up really bad and this is why the stock is tanking.

    they went from growing earnings to predicting losing money

    in a few months netflix went from being very profitable, growing earnings and literally printing money to losing money

    but i guess on slashdot it's now an excuse to buy the stock

    not they don't care but it seems google engineers love to build something to version .8 or so and then go on to the next cool thing. instead of spending years building a product through different versions and making it better.

    Google voice search vs Siri is a perfect example. release it, show how cool it is and go on to the next thing.
