    speak for yourself

    in civilization in the last 4 years we went form 256kbps mobile speeds to 20-50mbps speeds depending on carrier. and i get a lot more minutes than i did just 8 years ago

    sprint is still unlimited and T-Mo is technically unlimited. fast data and then throttle after you hit your contract allotment

    if you RTFA you'll see that ESPN aka Disney is paying a huge premium to carry the sports games and will ask the cable operators for higher fees. of course they are trying to hide them by making the cable operators carry ESPN as part of the basic subscription

    there is no way comcast or TW can keep paying higher fees and charge you the same amount of money

    MS was making OS's when Samsung could barely make a working microwave. MS was making mobile devices when Samsung was still associated with cheap and LArry and Sergey were still in college.

    there is also the americas trade zone or whatever it's called. I think anything made in each of the american continents can be sold tariff free here

    the supreme court said you can sue if you have suffered serious damages even if the contract said arbitration. something like this is not that serious. i've had CC cards hacked and it's not that big a deal to fix the problem.

    today it costs $50 million for a quick space tourism flight. as the money is invested the cost will drop.

    same with computers. 50 years ago it was huge supercomputers that only governments and large corporations could buy. now cell phones are more powerful

    in fact the pace of innovation has increased as more consumer dollars have been spent on technology

    google and apple like to do a lot of work in secret and then patent it or keep it secret for years.

    microsoft and IBM are the opposite and like to patent things as soon as they finish the work on them even if there is no product yet

    amazon is on a few select TV's and blu ray players. not on the PS3 and x-box

    like most people i watch tv on the tv, not on the computer

    i only have netflix streaming because my older kid always likes one or two shows on it that makes it worth it over buying the dvd. otherwise the selection is so bad there is nothing to watch.

    with apple's new rules i can just buy and stream from the apple tv and dump my cable DVR as well

    i read about lawsuits like this all the time, rarely do i read how they win a lot of money. there is no law that says a company has to reveal every single strategic idea they research

    lots of the tools and FW's are based on linux and open source

    we use one called xangati. it's an appliance that track's the amount of everyone's data use. there are alerts that trigger if you use too much data in a specified time
