Jerry Springer is awesome once in a while. I liked the episode when this woman broke up with her boyfriend because she found a new one. On show she found out that her new boyfriend had a twin brother and they were both screwing her without her knowing. One would be having sex while the other hid in the bathroom. OF course it was never explained what would happen if she wanted to go to the bathroom.
All the strange new worlds have been discovered. They should concentrate the show on the wars with the Klingons, Romulans and conflicts with other species. After more than 10 seasons of strange new worlds what else is left? How many more humanoid type races can the make up artists think up? All the alien races on star trek are very simplistic and concentrate on one quality of humanity. By now I think they are out of qualities and should have the human race covered.
I liked the pilot, but all the other episodes are hardly original and even kind of boring. Perfect example is a few weeks ago when they went to the planet colonized 80 years ago that got irradiated and the humans now live underground. They should fire the writers. It sounded so stupid trying to invent a new dialect for those people and making it sound like bad Shakespeare.

My guess is that Microsoft will allow this and maybe even encourage it. All to sell as many X-Boxes as possible. Then in the next version of the X-Box or X-Box version 3 they will crack down and lock the system down. But by then Nintendo and Sony may only be shadows of their former selves and it will be time for the X-Box to be a money maker.
Just like MS looked the other way at casual piracy of Win9x and NT for years it will probably do so with the X-Box. But sooner or later payday will come.
I guess computer geeks don't have a sense of humor. I remember hearing somewhere that C coders don't think VB programmers are real programers or something like that. Don't remember the specifics. Thought I would play on that.
I do have a real MCSE. And I also realize that any certification program run by a company's marketing department isn't a real certification.
Microsoft says I'm a systems engineer. I studied long and hard for the exams. And then had to relearn almost everything for the real world. You wouldn't believe my surprise when I found out that in the enterprise people don't use NT boxes as routers and use third party software instead of NT backup and a tape drive on each server. But getting back to the point. How come I'm not considered a "real" engineer? I got my license from Microsoft. Like developers are real engineers anyway. All they do is click, drag and drop code in until they say it's ready. Then the patches come out.
I'm quoting figures given to me by an MBA from my last job. He said that around 80% of all new businesses fail in the first year. 90% within the first 2 years. And 95% within three years. The survivors are probably doing something right.
It can't be. Has any open source company ever turned an actuall profit? GAAP or pro forma? Truth is it's like any other new business. 95% of the new companies will close their doors within the first three years and the survivors will probably survive for a while because they have good management and a real business model.
Can't really post a link, but I got out of the army last year and saw it happening before I got out. And I was offered a job in the NY area migrating siprnet from unix to nt. I'm really guessing on the win2000 part but it's probably true.
The last army unit I was in before I got out we had a siprnet datacenter. Usuall stuff like locked doors and needing to be identified on camera before entry. But the people who worked in there used to give the entry code to their wives who would come in with classified info on the monitors. Then they went to a code and entry card. So the wives would ring the doorbell first and then be let in while there was classified info on the monitors.
The military has been sendding encryption keys over the radio waves for years. Naturally it has found a way to encrypt them. As far as my post here is what someone told me before an exercise I helped set up. The intel people's data is classified top secret and is encoded with the appropriate encryption. General classified data is secret and isn't encrypted as well as top secret data. At another point these two streams are combined with plain text data and then encrypted again. The opposite happens at the other end.
Here is some info on the web:

The NSA has some really smart people to rip this stuff apart and certify it to be secure before it goes into production. These products are usually designed to a higher standard than software programmed by people in their spare time or microsoft.
If you can hack into a separate physical network than the general internet good luck. And there is hardware encryption encrypted with more hardware encryption much stronger than the measly 128 bit that us civilians use. If I remember correctly someone told me it was something like 1024 bit at the lowest level.
Well what do you think IRA's, 401K's, union pension funds, insurance policies and other investments are? Directly or indirectly through some kind of investment fund more than 60% of all americans own stock. And socialism isn't very different. Only difference is that the government workers make more than private sector and are well off. And name one country where a small minority doesn't control most of that nation's wealth?
And there are just as much lobbyists for the AARP, AAA, the unions, NOW, Right to Life, Greenpeace and other "populist" causes as there are for corporations.
If you're a business owner you would probably have an interest in legislation that's friendly to your interests. And since over 60% of Americans own stock in US companies what happens to corporate America is in their interest.
What a crock. I bet everyone in the US wants to pay 70% of their income to taxes to support corrupt governments and a huge social welfare system. And all the small businesses out there are just dying to have the government regulate them to death. I spent 4 years in Europe and it sucks. Nice place to visit for the history, but horrible to live in. The US is years ahead of everyone else in every thing. Maybe you should get your jobless rate to less than 10% before you say how good the European economy is.
check out FirstGov website . The US Government has many online resources.
A few months ago I got a virus infection and the doctor gave me some anti-biotics. Out of curiosity I went to the FDA website and was surprised to learn that the drug companies can do some of things to certify their drugs online.
The US government also has an IP network physically separate for classified information. I have seen a lot of work get done over it.
While it sounds good, it will never happen. PC companies make money on every hardware sale. Console companies lose money on the hardware, but get a royalty of $10 a game or something like that for every game sold. Totally different business model. When is the last time Microsoft paid Compaq and Dell sell Windows and MS Office?
How do the Sith stick out? There are more alien races then Star Trek and they all look a little bizare. Does Greedo stand out more standing next to Chewie?

What are the differences between network admin, system admin and account bi*ch?

Strangely the computer games are in consumer electronics\video games\pc games\games
Try Ebay. Within a month you can get most games for much less than retail.
Fry them, gas them or lethal injection. The world will be a better place without hackers and running Windows NT/2000.

That's right it is separate. For fun I would surf the different sites on there if I was ever bored and all I had was a siprnet computer to play with.

Actually one of the networks is currently being migrated from a Unix OS to Windows NT/2000.

What about the VAT, gasoline and everything else combined.
I never said he was a good doctor. But because of that little stunt I am on the lookout for a new doctor in NYC. One who accepts Blue Cross.
