    that's what the NY court ruled, the quill test is satisfied and there is no conflict

    i can buy from lots of websites in NY that won't collect sales tax because they don't have any affiliates here

    disk backup does single instance storage where they can compress similar data across files. not just compress a file. i've seen over 90% compression in some cases. pretty amazing stuff, but limited in the type of data it works with

    who in their right mind is going to store 4TB of company data on unRAIDed disk?

    first you have to buy the enterprise gear with the 4 hour or next day warranty. then RAID-5 at the minimum and probably RAID-6. and if your server runs out of storage its $3000 for a jbod plus $1000 for the RAID controller and then the disks

    and then you have to have a second backup server with the same data standing by just in case your primary server crashes. disks have this problem where if the OS crashed or something happens to other hardware in the server your data might be lost forever

    disk based backup is cheaper for text type data files since it compresses very well. i tested disk backup on SQL Server for a year and while it did compress pretty good, not enough to make the disk cheaper.

    its probably cheaper now that you can get a lot more storage per server than a few years ago, but i haven't run the numbers

    i remember a few years back backup to "cheap" disk was all the rage. if you were backing up to tape you were seen as some kind of mental patient

    tape has its issues, but sucking up money like a trophy wife isn't one of them

    I doubt they care if anyone pirates their music since it sells concert tickets in huge soccer and Olympic stadiums

    And they probably have enough money to finance their tours themselves instead of relying on loan from record companies and livenation

    the android OS itself is created by lots of companies and maintained by google
    but at this point anything of monetary value in android has been stripped out by google and runs under google play services which is licensed separately. you can create all the non-google android phones you want but unless you pass OHA cert you can't run google apps on them

    they are installing small solar farms on their store roofs for peak usage times to cut down on expenses during the most expensive hours

    first they seem to only sell used cars
    and a quick check of honda acords,their prices aren't cheap. $20,000 for a 2012 model. and the cheap one at that with no options

    the prices at the dealers are the same and i can trade my old car with them at the same time

    just the fact that you can touch the servers, the routers and the wires where this data sits on means you will need a top secret SSBI clearance. having the clearance doesn't mean you will see the cool data since need to know applies

    when i was in the army there were jobs where new privates were required to get a top secret clearance just to be in that job field. if you couldn't get the clearance they sent you off to infantry school

    in the 90's the military had their own IP web based cloud. accessed it via internet explorer like any other website except it was physically separate from the non-secure internet WWW that everyone wasted time on

    this is true, but there is no 4K media yet

    a lot of movies are shot with 4K cameras but blu ray is still meant for 1080p at 30-40 Mbps. streaming is 1080p but 5-10 mbps.
    sure they can do 4K streaming but the bit rate won't be better than it is now so there would be no point.

    and even then people aren't going to replace their blu rays with the new disks

    i have a 3 year old Panny 42" LCD TV. no LED backlit and no smart TV, just a cheapo LCD
    night time its awesome. in the day time the screen is too dark

    will going to LED or some other model fix this?

    and you can stream a lot of channels now so you don't need a cable box for say the kids. HBO, disney channel and others can be streamed via apple TV, roku, x-box and other devices

    time warner rents cable card at $2.50 per month now, other companies more. the box will cost you $140 from samsung
    depending on your company you can now stream your TV. FIOS/Time warner and AT&T will let you stream live TV on x-box and roku and maybe some other devices. samsung smart TV's now have time warner streaming as well
