if this were to implemented on a national scale what would be so bad about screening out for all the different genetic diseases and whatever?
people already do this to some extent and have done so throughout history. those with money have always had access to better food and health care and trying to make sure their kids marry into other families with money
you would budget for lots of things but there wouldn't be enough money for it at the end of the FY there was a huge pot of money left over that would be divided up and spent. every last penny because if you come in under budget then next year's budget is cut.
i used to have a government credit card and had to buy lots of worthless stuff just to spend money
i see a lot of parents with DSLR's on the playground. lugging around the camera in a pouch and the accessories to take a few photos of their kids. sometimes they scream at their kids so they can get that nice shot
me, i have my iphone. i'll take 10 or 20 photos in a few seconds of my kid in action and keep the best one. its also small enough for me to go into knee deep water and get some awesome action shots of my kid playing in ocean waves as they splash around him
on IOS you can buy tomtom, garmin, navigon and other apps that download maps to your device so you don't need a cell signal.
i've used navigon on an iphone 4s and it was accurate enough to know which lane of traffic i was in Google Maps is awesome, but it sucks on android. every android phone i've used had crappy GPS where it wouldn't work unless the phone was on the windshield. and this includes the hyped and magical galaxy s3
it is ironic that the people who believe in this nonsense are the ones buying the expensive graphics cards that suck up lots of electricity and running their computers 24x7 on bittorrent or home servers or whatever that happens to dump lots of CO2 into the atmosphere
where do you buy your cars? in NYC i was looking for a toyota camry with leather seats and the dealer found one in stock in the area. it had some i didn't want and he said it would be no problem to order it. honda's have feature packages so one will always be at your dealer what fees are you talking about? every NYC dealer i have been to you pay the sticker price plus tax plus state fees. if you get a costco discount then some dealers will add on fees to clean it, etc.
even if you could buy direct you would still have fees to deliver it, DMV, etc.
for gaming, the GPU took over most of the work which is the way it should have happened
for applications, most don't really need 2 cores. even running multiple apps at the same time you don't really need 2 cores. i was playing MP3's on a computer in the 1990's with minimal CPU usage. there is no way you need to dedicate a whole core to music while surfing the internet. or some of the other idiotic use cases people make up
part of the ruling says that companies have to disclose where they get their data from. if they are lifting data from copyrighted works they will have to admit it and get sued
my Galaxy does a few things that I care about like upload stuff to evernote from an app that the iphone doesn't, but the iphone is a much better product overall
better quality apps overall better games with xbox quality graphics on some galaxy s3 is laggy iphone touch screen is better
the hype seems to be that you can download a design of anything and print it at home instead of going to the store
even star trek with its replicators and idiotic no money economy skipped the part of the raw materials for the replicators having to be made somehow. sure you can replicate anything, but you need an expensive machine and the right raw materials
because for most people smartphones are taking over the job of windows PC's and more. you can buy a cheapo PC and keep it for many years now where as before you had to upgrade every few years.
same with ipads. you can do almost everything on an ipad that a PC does short of some games and programming.
so breast cancer will protect people from nuclear weapons?
i see where you're going

he started intellectual ventures some years later

in the early 90's there was talk in the US press about french and european spying on US companies, especially to get an advantage for airbus
a euro data hub accessible only to european intelligence agencies who will happily share data with their NSA buddies
even then the NSA was tapping under sea fiber cables 20 years ago. before that we were sucking transmissions out of the sky

i did it twice while in the US Army. two trips to the national training center in the california desert. i hated it. both were pre internet
it takes like 15 minutes to read the day's newspaper and after that, nothing to do
the radio stations played the same 10 songs every day, all day
WTF is so awesome about dumping technology and living like a caveman for a few days? try it for a month.
i came back and first thing i did was drink, watch TV and listen to music i hadn't listened to for weeks
apple just signed a deal with china mobile, the biggest operator there
giving a free iphone to every worker will be awesome advertising, not charity or gratitude
i carry a GS3 and an iphone 5 daily
my Galaxy does a few things that I care about like upload stuff to evernote from an app that the iphone doesn't, but the iphone is a much better product overall

who pays $900 for a smartphone?
its $649 in the USA plus 5% to 8.75% sales tax depending on where you live
video game sales are like movie tickets. people will buy it the first month its out and then forget about it
the iphone will be printing money for apple for the next 12 months. not like everyone is eligible for an upgrade now
assuming everyone cares about the new GTA
i wouldn't have known about it except for the NYC subway ads. i don't have an xbox or PS3
Two iPhone 5's
iPad 2
iPad 4
iPad 2 is a bit buggy with App Store cards but nothing major. Performance is good on all my devices
We won't care

you can print real cotton clothes that are completely washable on a 3d printer? where do you get the raw cotton for it to form into clothing?
can i print clothes or shoes for my kids on a 3d printer?
can i print a working tablet?
how about a charging cable for my iphone?
or new toilet paper?
