    voice is a pretty crappy way to interact with a computer outside a movie

    i can ask Siri how the Mets did last night, not that i need to
    it will answer that they lost and the score. anything more i have to open an app

    or i can open Team Stream or ESPN in the first place and read up lots of sports news, scores, etc

    i like the second way a lot better, same with android and google glass. anything past a headline or a snippet you have to open an app.

    i worked for an DoD agency 13 years ago for a year. We had a main NT domain with a child domain for each of the 6 regional offices

    the admin in one of the offices refused to set up a trust between his domain and the main domain. for some reason no one could make him do it. i bet same here. some of the admins in the smaller offices are refusing to go along with this

    nope, they had magnetic compasses 300 years ago and scientists looked at ships' logs and their measurements of magnetic north to figure out the poles are shifting. not only that, they are supposed to flip in the next few decades. north will become south and vice versa. it has happened lots of times in earth's history

    i first read about this a decade ago and it has been happening for hundreds of years. scientists are studying ships' logs from the 1700's and earlier and this process started 300 years ago.

    they won't sell you another care pack after 5 years of life?

    we have HP servers that we buy care packs for after they come off warranty sometimes a year or two off warranty. the care packs are just 1 or 2 years at a time since they price them out every year depending on the failure rates

    for us peons that have to finance our cars a dealership is a place to
      look at the car,
    sit inside,
    play with the buttons,
      take a test drive
    get a loan at better rates than most banks to finance the car. no bank other than the manufacturer's finance companies offers 0%, .9% or 1.9% for 5 years.

    if smart people go to best buy to check out TV's then you have to be a moron to buy an $80,000 car just by visiting a web site to check the specs and pictures

    chances are these people went to school together or have friends in common and see each other at holidays or common functions

    i've known officers in the army who trained each other in west point and ended up in the same unit or assuming command of a unit from a former upper classman

    i don't think its the buying of the seeds that got the farmer sued

    when he signed with monsanto to buy most of his seeds and roundup he signed an agreement. in this case he bought some seeds outside of monsanto and either bought more roundup or used what he had. probably the former. at some point monsanto probably did an audit and found him buying more roundup than normal for his farm size and caught him.

    you can buy all the monsanto seeds you want. just dont use roundup on them if you buy them from someone other than monsanto. find your own solution to kill weeds and insects that eat soybeans

    the original premise behind private equity was to buy a down on its luck company, fix its problems and get it profitable again. then sell it and pocket the profit on the real effort you did.

    today's version is to buy up a company with low debt and strong cash flow, saddle with debt, take the cash and run. management and shareholders like it as well since they get paid too

    buying up healthy companies screws the employees

    You can go to your state school with in state tuition and not spend a lot of money

    No reason to send your kids to another state unless its one of the top schools in the country

    4 Line mobile share on AT&T i pay $266 with taxes for 10gb data and unlimited minutes And texts

    T mobile it's $100 plus $40 for the 2gb data add on for each phone plus $80 for the phone payments plus taxes which are almost $10 per line per month

    And t mobile I have to wait 2 years to upgrade. AT&T gives me a discount on iPhone upgrades after 6 months and a full subsidy after 18

    iPhone 5 and galaxy s4 both cost over $200 to build
    Add in the design, selling and lots of other costs and $650 is a fair price. Apple has gross margins of 38%. Samsung is about the same. Nothing in the greedy range.

    After lots of other corporate expenses the net profits are in the 10% range for both companies.

    Htc and other companies lose money selling $650
