i have a tiny apple TV, don't use HULU and only subscribe to netflix
i only pay for cable from time warner cable and get free HD quality broadcast channels over the same wire as the internet comes in since they aren't encrypted. that's how my wife watches a lot of her shows
all this proves is that most people do the same thing every day. wake up, go to work in the same place, hit the same cell towers and call the same people
i bet if you start calling random numbers every day it might make it harder to identify you
But the kind where you know a tech journalist and he or she writes a cool story about your project. Or you have a big social media following and spread the word. Or you hire a social media specialist to spread the word
None of the successful projects got there by accident or luck All the unfounded ones are by people who don't know anyone who could help them
i haven't kept up this year, but until a few years ago Google was buying dozens of start ups every year. most with no profits or hope of profits
most start ups end up being acquired because they have no hope to monetize their idea by themselves and need a partner. nothing new. drug industry is like this. small start up companies make the drugs and the brand names you hear about buy them up or the distribution rights. almost like TV and movies.
Nice for public facing websites and custom software but for a lot of enterprise apps they are certified only on VMware or hyper-v. You lose support on any other hyper visor
apple and dell are totally different companies dell is like a giant QA department. they buy up parts, test them in a product and sell/market the finished product. although these days with everything on the same silicon they just rebrand
apple like samsung do engineering they code their OS develop their own CPU's design their product work with manufacturers integrate all the hardware and software into a single product
any time dell has ventured beyond building lego's they have failed. but it's OK. cars were open like this in their early days. computing is going where the car went. from an open product, to a closed vertically integrated product
NYC is getting billions of federal money to pay for subway repair and other projects FEMA was out there Insurance companies were out there what else was Oblama supposed to do? there are only so many contractors out there. i live outside the flood zone and a wine and cheese shop that was supposed to open months ago cannot because all the contractors are busy with hurricane clean up
if you have flood insurance then your insurance company cuts you a check. if not you go to FEMA and ask for a loan to rebuild your home. this is not the first time NYC suffered flooding like this and FEMA had flood maps available. some people chose NOT TO BUY FLOOD INSURANCE
if a high profile crash takes place, the media hounds start looking for blame. anyone who works for the government knows to COVER YOUR ASS all the time otherwise the media hounds will call for your head on the slimmest bit of evidence
like when hurricane katrina hit and the idiot reporters were blaming bush based on a fictional book of a hurricane hitting the area. not that i liked bush, but...
all the stupid kids i see speeding, running stop signs, texting, yapping on cell phones while driving because they think they are the best driver on the road
Kids get into more collisions because they are dumb and break the traffic laws. almost every time i see someone run a stop sign, a red light, drive too fast for conditions its someone who looks like they are in their 20s in their hurry to no where
private equitty wants cash. they will "buy" dell, load them up with debt and special dividends and then take the cash for themselves leaving dell with lots of debt
years ago i had music ripped in lossless and yes you can hear the difference
these days its all MP3 or AAC. and i don't care. only time i listen to my music is while running or sometimes on the train to and from work. most times my iphone doesn't have any music on it and i listen to spotify or pandora for 20 minutes while driving home
some people probably care about the best sound quality, most dont i like blu rays. my wife will watch TV on the non-HD channels most times and she can't tell the difference in quality
i read that we had the same kind of patent battles 100 years ago in the last technological revolution. how are things different now than before?
were there any IP companies at that time?

poster is a basement dweller who only uses a traditional computer for everything
why would you need a blu ray player if you torrent all your movies
i got bored after 30 minutes

smash the old style phone as well because a combination of your address and calling patterns can identify you just as well
20% success is about as good as most venture capital investments
Not the pop ads or TV commercial

sort of true
you can have memory and other similar bugs come up when you are running an untested and unsupported app/os/hyper visor combo
Nice for public facing websites and custom software but for a lot of enterprise apps they are certified only on VMware or hyper-v. You lose support on any other hyper visor
and the services business is going down the toilet
big companies have their own IT
the little guys buy into da cloud
installing Exchange isn't that hard. most of the problems are due to being cheap, not bad planning
FEMA was ready, but the trucks were out of the area
pretty dumb to put your relief supplies into the path of a hurricane where it will strike the worst. the roads being flooded made relief pretty hard

yeah, because the pilots are using their ipads right at the moment of take off
you must not understand how the media works

there are some tomahawks and JDAMS that say otherwise
yep
all the stupid kids i see speeding, running stop signs, texting, yapping on cell phones while driving because they think they are the best driver on the road

so why is it that the high taxed blue states have more people and more economic activity than the freedom loving low tax rate red states?
they don't

make sure you open your plant in the middle of no where. no one wants your pollution around their homes

if you bike say 20 miles on a good day you want to know exactly how far you went, how fast, how much calories, heart rate, etc
