I'm guessing you're 16, never actually heard of the genius that is Woz before you read this article, and are clueless to the fact that he owns several iPhones and several Android phones. Lemme guess, you installed someone else's ROM on your Desire and think that makes you a "hackerz", some of the stuff that Woz did with microchips is frankly genius and you're clearly clueless as to the admiration that real nerds have for him.

Why would a billionaire stand in line all night long to get a cellphone that his company sells?

As you said, for the publicity. Cults being what they are, I'm sure it all helps to perform minor miracles to keep the sheep spending until the day they can revive Zombie Jesus.. i mean Jobs.

Or you know, it could just be that Woz is a pretty fun cool guy and likes to hang out with people in lines and makes new friends. Believe it or not, Woz doesn't need the money and the iPhone doesn't need the publicity to sell out in less than an hour. Frankly Woz is more the engineer, nerd and geek than any of us will likely ever be if the guy wants to stand in a line overnight for shits and giggles, more power to him. But no, it's cool, you twist that into some strange reason to insult a dead man. I'm just surprised you didn't mention Apple users being shee... OH wait, you did. I guess you bought an Android phone, installed someone else's ROM that they made nice and simple for you to understand and told yourself you're a "hacker" and more of a nerd than an Apple user.

    So?

Did you not read the post to which I replied? It starts off by saying that "Siri does look amazing, and will become really useful in a couple of years as developers outside of Apple operate on it" and yet Apple have deliberately prevented developers outside Apple from being able to use this on their platforms.

It suggests that Apple is the only company that innovates in terms of creating intuitive user interfaces, and asks "Are there absolutely NO actual designers at any other tech company?". My point was that obviously other companies "get human interaction" because it was another company that created this very technology under discussion, and that Apple just bought it out.

The original poster was seeing the tech world through Apple-shaped, rose-coloured glasses. I am not saying that Apple have done anything wrong. Nor do I claim that Apple do not innovate themselves at all. I am just correcting the misperception that it is the only company in the world that innovates with good ideas.

...so? They saw its potential and did something with it, what Siri is now, tightly integrated into the OS, is nothing like what it was as an app. I'm seeing a lot of "Anrdiods has this years" comments around the web and they clearly don't grasp just how different Siri is.

Even animals show a capability to demonstrate altruism.

The bible teaches me nothing about my moral code that I've not discovered for myself, in fact given that I love people even when I'm not going to benefit from it, EVEN at times when they are maybe not deserving of it, simply because I think it's the best way for humans to live and not because I think a sky god will send me to a nasty place, might make me a bad Christian, but it makes me a far better person as far as I'm concerned.
