There is already a NES emulator available for the Gameboy Advance called PocketNES. This emulator is great - it runs at full speed and has great sound support. You can even link up another GBA and play 2 players with just one cartridge. You have to have a Flash Advance linker in order to play on your GBA hardware though.
The OGG software is "already sort of working (and has a catchier name). The sound still sucks (doesn't work at all in N4.7X for Linux)" The above sounds infintely better than "a GPL MPEG-1 streaming video encoder that plays through any browser with Java."
Unless of course I'm the only linux user who winds up cursing and sending netscape a 'kill -9' whenever I stumble across a page with Java on it.
Actually, being the said webmaster, Caleb Jaffa is one of my best friends. He's now out on a LDS mission in Maryland. The idea was to get his face posted all over the 'net so when people see him, they'll recognize him from Slashdot
having a linux OS doesn't make the console more desirable than the others. Its the developers, the games, and the popularity
Perhaps, but let's just read into this a little bit deeper. In all the years I've been a developer, each platform I wrote software for had an OS. It seems to me that if you want the precious developers you should appeal to their needs. I would personally _much_ rather develop under Linux than WinCE (or, whatever). The decision to use Linux was to get developers, not to ensure that the console would be dead before it's release.
Perhaps my mind is just in the gutter, but upon glancing at the headline I could've sworn it said SexChange Closes Doors. Perhaps it's because there are two other sex related articles on the front page, but then again, maybe not.
I was just wondering why Redhat made the decision to switch the RedhatNetwork to a subscription-only service. I understand the need for incoming cashflow, but how do you expect people to pay membership fees for RHN when they can switch to Debian's apt or just use Ximian's RedCarpet utility to do the same thing for free?

Personally, my connection is as such. I have a 384k SDSL line from Covad. On this line I typically get about 36k/sec upload and download.
That said, I'd just like to complain about how SLOW it seems. Bandwidth is like an extremely addictive drug - and once you have some, you always seem to want more.
Seriously Timmy, I hardly think this garbage qualifies as 'News for Nerds' let alone 'Stuff that matters.' Most nerds I know (myself included) are extremely averse to sports of any kind. This is probably due to the ridicule that was endured during years of public education, in which the instigators were commonly involved in said athletic activities.
Can't this kind of cheap trite find a weblog of it's own where a bunch of slope-headed, beer bellied, 40-somthings who call each other "Coach" can sit and grunt with one another about why this sucks?
I thought I read this site to gather pertinent information that caters to my demographic. Not so I can learn about why the meat-head in the other office is going to have a restless night's sleep.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Ximian's Red Carpet utility do the same this as Redhat's update agent? I don't see the problem, since someone else is providing a _free_ means to the same end. Plus Red Carpet is a far more attractive, professional looking utility, IMNSHO.
I was at Comdex/2000 and I searched high and low for the Yopy. Almost everyone I asked had absolutely no idea what I was talking about - and the one's that did weren't sure where it was, or if it was even at the show at all.
I was able to check out Compaq's iPaq running linux. While it was pretty cool, it seemed to have some _serious_ stability problems. The guy who was demoing the unit had to reboot the thing three times just while I was watching. After cracking a joke about the thing running WinCE I nabbed some info and continued on my way through LBE.
A while ago I would've wholeheartedly agreed with you. I tried Debian back when the latest release was hamm (?). After becoming thoroughly pissed/frustrated I went back to using RH.
Up untill recently I kept on using RH up untill 7.0 came out. After downloading/installing/barfing I decided to see what the other vendors were peddling. I decided, what the hell, let's see what the GNU/Kids are up to - so I downloaded the ISO images for Potato. For starters they've now got a simple option in addition to simply running dselect that allow you to select package groupings. I went ahead and selected the X system core, C/C++ devel/debug and let her rip.
By getting this base system up and running I was able to apt-get the things I wanted (Netscape, Helix, etc...). In short, anyone who naysays what Debian is doing should probably give it another chance.
There's a good chance that Steve may accept your offer for coffe, but he'll pass on the cheese sticks...
He's a vegan.
Can someone please tell me what this iTunes-looking app is in this screenshot?
Thanks a bunch!

On my Debian system using Mozilla 0.9.5 I get the error message - but with Netscape 4.77 I can access the page fine.
Too late. It appears as though CBS has already implemented this idea into one of their reality TV shows.
I don't think that FOX can pull this off, unless they plan on bringing the Simpsons writers on for the two episodes.
Chances are it'll probably wind up just like this. (Desparately Xeeking Xena - Halloween Episode X)
Lisa: "I didn't know Xena could fly."
Lucy: "I told you already, I'm not Xena. I'm Lucy Lawless."
Now it seems that those "computer-types" have a reasonable explanation for their right arm being much larger than their left one.
:)

Um? It would seem to me that the version of Aqua they shipped did compile on Darwin. A quick 'uname -a' reveals the following.
Darwin localhost 1.3 Darwin Kernel Version 1.3: Thu Mar 1 06:56:40 PST 2001; root:xnu/xnu-123.5.obj~1/RELEASE_PPC Power Macintosh powerpc
Ximian provides their GNOME on a cd for the bandwidth-impaired. It's still free.
