    that IBM threw down the gauntlet regarding software patents
    to counter the Microsoft FUD.

    Plus 1-11 has that nice binary look.

    Anyway, every day is Software Freedom Day when you
    kick the Microsoft software addiction.

    including hiding posts to blogs.

    All blogs should be https, in fact, all websites should
    be https, even if you have to roll your own SSL cert.

    Well, the squirrels don't put out an EM sig, so that is an advantage.

    As to smaller stuff, you already have micro drones, and you can imagine smaller models that are top secret.

    Yep. I've seen this specific problem with XP Pro with latest updates.

    This makes sense, since Microsoft apparently is back-porting Vista
    functionality to XP.

    Microsoft has a serious QA problem, and it's no wonder that their
    own employees don't want Vista on their desk.

    What? The Linux kernel is GPLv2 now. Linus
    does not have to do *anything*. It can stay GPLv2
    and that is *NOT* a problem.

    Kim Weins, vice president of marketing, says 'We developed it in response to customers not knowing what open source programs they were using.'

    It probably runs better on windows. The market is bigger, and rarely does anyone know what really is running on a windows machine.

    Even if the software is from Microsoft.

    I agree. Using spacetime counters would prevent the
    problem. But to do that properly and with decent accuracy
    would require 64 bit counters to nanosecond level.
