Because Microsoft is not really trying to make money off of a Linux distribution, they are trying to kill GNU/Linux. Novell got suckered via quick cash.
Actually, that is pretty accurate. The terrorists inside of the US, you know, the ones running the government, are definitely anti-GPL, and anti-freedom.
I agree. Using spacetime counters would prevent the problem. But to do that properly and with decent accuracy would require 64 bit counters to nanosecond level.
Windows equivalent: Shut Down
There is no difference when the corporations control
the government. No difference at all.
Haven't you heard? It all happened in the last 5000 years!
I don't see that under 'Start'.
Moon, Inc., disagrees and says it's really green cheese.
You *assume* that no ETI has found your planet.
Just because you can observe no evidence to indicate such,
does not mean that it has not happened.
We might just be hiding our ships on another planet, observing you.
I wonder how they picked September 15th?
I picked January 11 because that was the day
that IBM threw down the gauntlet regarding software patents
to counter the Microsoft FUD.
Plus 1-11 has that nice binary look.
Anyway, every day is Software Freedom Day when you
kick the Microsoft software addiction.
If it's plain ol' http, anything can be modified on the fly,
including hiding posts to blogs.
All blogs should be https, in fact, all websites should
be https, even if you have to roll your own SSL cert.
As to smaller stuff, you already have micro drones, and you can imagine smaller models that are top secret.
Here's a 33 centimeter model and that's from 3 years ago.

Or a completely separate vector.
And now, they don't even want to bother with that formality.
Expect? No. It's already happening, and
it's not just the illegal NSA spying, which is just
a distraction from other avenues.
that the female of the species is evil.
If it can be exploited to run arbitrary code,
that arbitrary code could be a key logger.

Yep. I've seen this specific problem with XP Pro with latest updates.
This makes sense, since Microsoft apparently is back-porting Vista
functionality to XP.
Microsoft has a serious QA problem, and it's no wonder that their
own employees don't want Vista on their desk.
What? The Linux kernel is GPLv2 now. Linus
does not have to do *anything*. It can stay GPLv2
and that is *NOT* a problem.
It probably runs better on windows. The market is bigger, and rarely does anyone know what really is running on a windows machine.
Even if the software is from Microsoft.
Ah, so Microsoft is an Open Source Technology Partner.
But, alas, not a supporter of GPL.
Microsoft: Open Source, as long as we can steal it.

Just because something is old does not make it irrelevant.
And certainly, the case can be made that recent writings
are irrelevant from the moment they are written. See Fox.
