All satellites have different focal points at the dish. Even DirecTV has multiple satellites themselves, but when they install your service, they only point at one satellite.
But, as to having two carriers sharing a frequency, it would only work if the satellites were far enough apart so that there was no interference at the focal point.
I'm not sure DirecTV has enough satellites to be able to spread the load.
