They really do block off a single lane and this works? Seems like it could cause major problems if someone in that lane was slow. I guess there are places where you can get out of said lanes for entrance and exits, but still.
Of course it would be hell for me as I've got to drop 2 kids of a different location approximatly half way between home and work. And no I'm putting them in a cab by themselfs.
I'm thinking thats going to be the evolution. Cars will always have a manual driving ability, because people just love to drive. But you will soon see highways created that only allow auto driving cars on them. Eventually the entire interstate system could be converted to auto drive only. Then people who don't have an autodrive can still take the backroads. Eventually all roads will be autodrive only, with a few select roads available for people to drive for the fun of it.
I think there was some plans for whats called a breeder reactor, which basically revitalizes spent uranium. Believe it or not it was cut for fear of the waste getting into the hands of terrorist. (this was in the 90's not post 9/11) shrugs.
Well from this article. One article I read specifically said this was being rolled out because of the great approval they heard from their customers about the thumbs up thingy. Apparently people really like interacting with TV even if its only for ads. Honestly, I think if implimentent the way they hint, as I see a product a press a button and it helps me buy or find out about it (hopefully not right now as I'm watching tv) would be a good thing in my book.
Sorry, I went back and did the right thing and googled it. Prop 13 reduced property taxes (apparently they were very high). I can see how this reduced the budget for public education, but I don't see how its such a crazy insane idea like you make it sound.
First their gonna have to fix the entire way cd burning works with linux. Its simply not done in the same way that cd burning is done on windows. To emulate the windows cd burning API your really going to have to write new cdburning drivers/software. This is slightly a good thing though as it could help other programs.
I don't know what it is, but I know you get the same black soot on your walls after using one of these things. So I just assumed it was the ozone as it certainly smells like its burning.
Well as opposed to what the commerical shows you, what they really do is release a lot of ozone. Most of what is on the "collection grids" is actually burnt ozone. Either way this ozone grabs dust and junk and drags it down to the ground. But it also get into your lungs, and honestly isn't good for you.
Actually from what I understand the ad with directly be for whatever ad is showing at the time. So it won't interfer with the knowing what commerical is on or that the show is on, it will infact enhance this.
I could definatly be wrong, but I know they currently do have a small thing in the upper right corner that says press thumb up if you want to record a show being advertised, or more information about a product. I've only seen this once, but it was viewable through normal watching of the commerical as well as ffwing through the commerical. It is probably not as viewable through 30 second skipping through commericals, but this is an unsupported feature. Sadly they may do away with it for this, hopefully not.
It does to a point, as many of the new features are only on the newest models, and a lifetime subscription only covers the model you buy (you can't move your subscription to a machine of a different model period (there is a one time exception for people who bought thier lifetime subscription before this was "clarified")
Really, I've never heard of this. Either way I've got a dual tuner DirectTiVo so untill it forces two recordings on me at once, I'm not going to even notice. I'm guessing these are the prerecorded informational thingies that appear on the main screen. I always thought they were kinda pointless but cool. Never considered the horrors of having it forced while I'm watching something else. Why doesn't tivo just schedule these things for off hours?
I seriously doupt this would ever been done in block. I mean seriously how many people would you need to bribe all the handicapped voters, and take them to the polls. I doupt you could do this in a large enough scale to really effect any elections. But of course the disabled are people too, and also deserve the right to a secret ballot. Sadly this may not nessesarly be possible. I guess the best solution would be that any such bringing in of assistance would have to be pre-approved, otherwise assitance would have to be provided by poll workers. pre-approval would require person to have medical condition that poll worker couldn't handle. Examples of this could include those who can't speak or write, or other such medial conditions. Generally as our voting system is not very high tech its generally just been accepted to take the easy route and not worry about who helps. And this will probably continue untill there is evidence one day of massive fraud because of this.
The vote is done on a very simply laid out piece of paper. A mark is made with a pencil. Those who are blind or otherwise unable to fill it in on their selves can be helped by volunteer sworn in people from an another country, under no circumstance is anyone from america allowed to be in the same booth. The last election proving anything is the foreigners are as partison as Americans, it wouldn't really help remove bias to have people from other countries. Either way I think the disabled should be allowed to bring someone they trust into the booth with them (which currently is generally allowed, I don't know if it allowed offically though), or ask a poll worker for help. Either way I don't see the advantage of people from other countries, maybe outer counties might help.
Interesting idea about a space hook. Would it be possible to build one low enough to be reached by a non rocket solution, say a ballon, that could seriously reduce our payload. Any idea of the travel time of a high altitude ballon? I don't see how a rocket would make sense though.
So can anyone explain what is up with having to pick up real Sugar Jars? Some mention of ingredients.. to do what??
Your right, I meant to say all major roads. Of course I also did say eventually and eventually is a long time.
They really do block off a single lane and this works? Seems like it could cause major problems if someone in that lane was slow. I guess there are places where you can get out of said lanes for entrance and exits, but still.
Jersey walls? please explain? Can't find anything in google. How would a wall prevent abuse of auto lanes?
Correction:
And no I'm not putting them in a cab by themselves
So why don't they spend that money on public transportation. Of course it would increase sprawl, but it would also reduce gridlock.
Of course it would be hell for me as I've got to drop 2 kids of a different location approximatly half way between home and work. And no I'm putting them in a cab by themselfs.

They have done a solid job and snuffing out pirating while managing to avoid pissing off their consumer base.
Many people are complaining because it took then close to 4 hours to get approval to play the game once they installed it.
Also the word on the street is that you can get the pirate crack for this, and be playing it in less time.
Yes, but property taxes shouldn't be so high as to cripple the housing industry.

Don't think kazaa, think itunes with bittorrent downloads.
