    Everything needs to be on the same Ground circuit. It is necessary to avoid ground loops.

    I don't think this is correct. I have designed power supplies, and I don't immediately think of any reason why the power input of a switching power supply should vary differently from the power output. The only surge is when the hard disks spin up, but with SCSI there is a means to stagger the spin-up.

    I've had a lot of problems installing H-P devices. H-P has become a sloppy company, in my opinion.

    I don't think Carly Fiorina is better than Lew Platt, the former CEO. It has been a long time since H-P has had a real leader.

    In my opinion, IBM top executives with little technical education killed OS/2. They called OS/2 "Warp", a term for something so bent that it is useless.

    They aren't any smarter today. They have contracted with their ad agency for those stupid DB2 ads which show dorky guys in space suits. The ads show the lack of knowledge and interest of the ad agency writers in IBM's products. The IBM execs are not smart enough to know they're horrible.

    Only technically educated people can manage a technically educated company.

    Sounds like good advice in the post above.

    Some UPSs switch. Some are always online. You want the latter for a RAID array.

    The second paragraph is important. Check your input power. Everything attached to your network should be wired to the same power circuit. Otherwise there is a possibility for feeding large spurious signals to your hardware through the power line.

    I honestly was not bashing Microsoft. I am more pro-Microsoft than Bill Gates. If he were pro-Microsoft, he wouldn't let his company be so abusive. The bad PR is dragging his company down.

    Anyhow, at the present time, my comment is moderated, "Troll". Since, to be a troll, it would have to be factually incorrect, it is not a troll. I suppose Bill has been moderating again.

    Governments have a duty to do the right thing. They don't always do it. That doesn't mean it is not worth saying, however.

    I'm aware. I wrote a book about these kinds of things. Including the links, it is about 660 pages: What should be the response to violence?

    What I want to know is, how did my earlier post about Microsoft abuses get moderated "Redundant"? I looked, and I didn't see another post remotely like it. Bill, was that you? Did you moderate my comment down?

    Governments have a DUTY not to allow themselves to be manipulated.

    I notice that it takes a long time for abuses to be recognized, and to be stopped. Societies do not have efficient means for stopping a determined abuser, particularly one that exploits the lack of technical knowledge of its customers.

    Meanwhile, Microsoft has been continuing exactly as it did before, testing the limits. Perhaps there should be several new anti-trust and abuse-of-commerce cases.

    With Windows XP, Microsoft seems to be trying to blur the distinction between its computers and its customer's computers. Windows XP sometimes resembles a trojan (except that you must pay for it). Numerous operating system programs call Bill:
    1. Microsoft Media Player (tells Bill the music you like)
    2. Microsoft Direct Play Voice Test
    3. Microsoft Help and Support Center
    4. Microsoft Help Center Hosting Server
    5. Microsoft Application Error Reporting
    6. Microsoft Management Console
    7. Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service
    8. MS DTC Console program
    9. Services and Controller app
    10. Run DLL as an app
    11. Windows Explorer
    12. Microsoft Office keeps a number in each file you create that identifies your computer. No one has said why.
    13. Microsoft porn search looks on your hard drive for those photos of your wife. Okay, maybe not, but you aren't sure are you?
    14. These are just the ones I know about. There may be others.
    It is such a relief to use Linux! With Linux, there may be problems, but I know that they aren't caused deliberately. Linux is an OS that does not involve me in adversarial behavior.

    It is amazing that the Chinese never think to go to a local guest house for foreign backpack travelers (like the Amiga guest house in Taipei), and ask for help with their English.

    You need help with the English on your web site.

    I suggest you find someone who speaks English well at the Amiga guest house in Taipei. There are many well-educated travelers who would work cheaply to help edit your English.

    Also the main page has some coding problems. The menu should be at the top. The page size should not be limited, because with some monitors and resolutions, it is not possible to see the menu.

    The acting performances by Academy Award winners are, literally, bland and unconvincing compared to the acting performances of managers trying to pretend that they can manage a business they don't understand.

People will network their old computers to their new computers, so that they can bypass control.

    Personal computers have been one of the best things to come along in many years, and rich people want to destroy the growth.

    This idea has the same sensibility as the U.S. government trying to outlaw privacy by trying to outlaw encryption.
