However users who know 100x more about Linux than your average Gentoo user realise that it's better to actually use your machine than wasting all your time trying to fix something. I am one of those users. I've been using Gentoo for more than 2 years but got eventually frustrated with the amount of work I had to do for my system to just errr... 'work'. I've switched to kubuntu 2 months ago, and finally I spent more time using my pc for something productive.
On the other hand, as I have started my 'voyage' with linux with gentoo it certainly taught me a lot about how the system works. But then again, one can only be a masochist for a certain period of time...
Perhaps Microsoft is trying to protect itself against Linux. If the windooze goes down, they will be happily running a gardening business:) Always have something to fall back upon. Though Farmer Billy sounds a little sily:) An apple could easily be used to break windows:)
The funniest thing is that the register is not rendered properly. The text of the article is not wrapped at the edge of the screen. I am using opera 7.
All theese formats are just to make more money for companies. If you believe that aforementioned DVD standards were created for your convinience you're damn wrong, there is always money behind. And the companies will do as much as they can to make sure they get your money. I would wait if i were you(unless you really hate splitting big files to number of CD's). After all, no one likes to waste money and shelving couple of hundreds of pounds just to be in the line seems like sheer waste to me...
First... Why are all the Americans so proud of their country ??? At the end of the day america always was a mixed up society, this country was simply colonized using brutal power...Tell stuff about your country to the indians who till this day live in modern version of the concentration camps-reservats, created by goverment.
As to the level of developement, coments about runing water etc. Well America owes its developement because it's so far away...since north-south war, there were no bigger conflicts in the USA itself not counting americas 'poking the nose in others nations internal problems' actions.
And third thing, what is a country ?? a piece of land surrounded by unnatural borders to whom some people feel special just because they have been imprinted so as the children. This 'nationalism', economical issues...who gives a damn. You do something because it's economicly correct ??? or coz it's good ??? or what ? .
I don't live in usa and have no intentions to go there.
Anyway that kind of dicussion haven't got much sense since no one will accept the others arguments...
