Don't get me wrong, I like Linux, but from a commercial standpoint, Be makes more sense. Instead of hiring someone to hack this and that into a bunch of Linux source to get something that will probably not quite what i expected. err, I don't know about the Linux drivers etc.. But nVidia is a bastard at releasing specs for their cards.
Example, alot of developers who have been creating a driver for the GeForce card for BeOS ended up hitting a roadblock, how to access the framebuffer IIRC. Well many emails to nVidia later, nothing, It's as if they don't care about the people who use their cards. And all they are asking for is access to creating a 2d driver ONLY! I doubt there's any trade secrets in the 2d code, but apparently nVidia just doesn't give a damn about non-ms os's. So using that logic we must start with 1AD after saying goodbye to 1BC. Now it shouldn't take a physics major to tell what year is exactly 2000 years after this year. (if you have no clue it is none other than 2001) So the new century also starts in 2001 not 2000! And a whisper is heard throughout the world, everyone who partied like it's 1999 realizes that they were a year too early.
Just like this century started in 1901 so too must it end 100 years later in 2001.
Now If only the stupid people who write national headline news would get this thru their head, but that's asking them to think, wouldn't want that now would we?

"Goddammit! The world is just filling up with more and more idiots! And the computer is giving them access to the world! They're spreading their stupidity! At least they were contained before -- now they're on the loose everywhere!"

Sweet swirling onion rings that sounds cool. Who was this guy and will he open source this? (I have no plans of using it but the code behind it sounds extremely interesting) -If I had a good quote, It'd go here. -me
