  1. Yeah you can't really compare the US and Canada like that.

Lot of things are more expensive here, and in other provinces the prices are a lot cheaper for insurance.

  2. Vancouver area basic insurance covering only 3rd party liability for 200,000$ if sued for injures and the cost of repairs for their vehicle is about 90$ a month.

This doesn't cover if your vehicle gets stolen, any recover costs or damages caused by the vehicle while stolen (You're still responsible financially unless the thief gets caught).
It doesn't cover any of your own vehicle damage, injuries, glass replacement, nothing. It literally only covers the other people involved if you're at fault.
That price is if you have 10 years of driving with no accidents and are at the maximum discount available for your driving record which is a 43% discount.

New drivers start at about 130$ for liability only with 0% discount. If you want comprehensive to cover your own vehicle, theft, vandalism, fire etc you're well over 200$ a month, with I believe a 200$ deductible (This is all at the 43% discount). Which of course if someone smashes out only one window, it's about 200$ to replace it. Go figure.

So you save a lot of money for the more common things that happen by not getting the extra insurance.

  3. It doesn't work that way.

We have a company in British Columbia that is government run called ICBC for auto insurance. Single player.

What happens is that they keep raising the rates as they need to hold a minimum of 8 billion or something for ensuring they have cover legal costs and insurance claims etc.

The government constantly siphons money from ICBC and redirects it elsewhere. E.G It's no longer an insurance company but a new tax machine and they keep increasing the taxes.

However beyond that, the game itself is fun. I don't really see microtransactions or anything that would ruin the game for me. In addition, they purchased squad. So it's just another developer under their belt, and they may get access to some serious experience and way better engines (Sorry unity, I have a perm hate on you for performance reasons. Can you imagine a space game with orbiting etc that has an engine more like grand theft auto? Multiplayer? Amazing. Although unlikely it's nice to have fantasies. Keep in mind both studios are separate so it's very unlikely to see anything like that but, a man can dream.

So items for those purchasing beyond or even if we limit to people below certain income levels, the government isn't forking out money to inflated items since stores are practically promised consumers since people can only spend it there.

Items purchased with standard currency would follow the same rules we currently have.

As for the fact that if companies don't get their ways, people starve and die, which means we're at the complete mercy of corporations, then obviously the solution is a government based food and other supplies. You can't just give money away, and let people spend it on ipads.

What you need is to take care of the most abundant things in the world, that tend to be the most lacking, that are the most essential and cover those.
Universal food program. Everyone is entitled to a certain amount of food per month.
Universal housing program. North america, massive land space, utilization is low, but somehow you can't find a place to live.
Universal transit - Public transit shouldn't have execs making huge bonuses, it should be a non profit system run by the government. Need it for work and getting around with huge stores pushing out stores to be spread instead of small towns having everything close by.
Universal utilities - Basic amount of energy and water allowed to people at no cost.

I give you - Universal essentials. Besides the transit, land is huge and cheap, food is tons, cheap, and tons thrown out, and renewables are driving down utility prices.

This works out way better as it puts in more effort at reducing the cost of these items, so the government doesn't have to spend a ton of money for someone to have the essentials while a company rakes in the profit. Maybe costs + 10% or something for items part of the program.

Want to do business in north america? Your company in these sectors will have to offer at cost prices for the basic amount for individuals. It won't take money from you. Your profit is on non essential items, premium items. People who choose to purchase beyond their basic allotted amounts.

Companies will go "Fuck you I'll go elsewhere since I won't make as much and you'll have no food etc!"
Go ahead, the more companies that leave, the more business for the ones that stay, so they'll still be quite profitable.

  8. See, people are delusional. They imagine that, because something was viewed, you'd absolutely paying for this thing above other priorities.

Which is wrong, lots of people watch content because the movie was available, either they torrented it, a friend has it, it's on netflix and someone has a sub.

They imagine that every individual who views that movie, would totally pay for their service if they couldn't get it elsewhere.
This is where their dreams are going to die. There are plenty of things I've watched because someone had the movie or it happens to be on netflix (Which more than just me uses) but if I had to PAY like 3$ to see the movie or something, a lot of these movies I'd never watch. Yes, it's actually not worth my 3$, I'd rather buy a loaf of bread.

I think the number of people who would rather go buy a few beers then pay for that movie are significantly higher than they can imagine. They're chasing money that was never going to be theirs in the first place and it still won't.
