    It isn't about setting up robots to replace human soccer players, it is about proving that robots can be programmed to independantly perform complex tasks. Currently any hichschool soccer team could probably beat the robocup winner. The idea is to advance robotics.

    Maybe because it expands more with heat than your bones.

    If you use html views of a message they can prove you opened it by embeding a web-bug in the address. That is an image that loads remotely, if the image is loaded from that location you opened the mail.

    Field of view will be limited to the Centre of the Retina, mostly for reading purposes... you can't exactly look over to the far-right of your retina...

    It would use your whole field of view, no need to look, it can paint across the entire retina.

    For people with severe Myopic conditions and the like, how clear will the image be after going through corrective lenses?

    If it were anything like the equipment at the eye doctors, it could tell how well it was focused on your retina and change the pattern to account for the curvature of your lense.

    No, maybe if you had one I would see it. The law has nothing to do with the validty of the offer, so weather or not you can become a millionare is irrelivant. The law has to do with them using your property (computer) to sell to you without your consent. So weather the product is porn, get rich quick, or guiness mugs doesn't matter. It is still a tresspass.

    Did you even attempt to read the article? It does apply to the millionare scams too. It is a tresspass law not a porn law.

    Actually the sterility caused by the radiation is a mutation (a change from the original form). So they are mutant flies, as long as they don't have laser vision I am fine with it though.

    That would create a class based government system (as if it isn't already). Because then only rich people could afford to serve the government, because the working class would have to work to eat.

    I recall licensing of IBM's OSs to be fairly expensive, have they cut prices at all to reflect the fact that a lot (the bulk?) of the vanilla Linux development happens outside IBM, therefore costing them nothing?
    Acording to the article the answer seems to be yes. They said the $400,000 linux box was about equal in power to a $750,000 mainfraim. So around $350,000 in OS savings.

    I was unaware of this, can you link to some sources? My impression of fair use laws is that they make copying legal for personal use. They do nothing to insure the ease of copying.

    In todays economy they are just tryint to save employees by cutting back on words intstead. They had to decite what words to no longer employ and they decided that hateful words are the ones that had to go. They are just saving jobs. :)

    I don't know all the details, but they were in a mine field during a war. To me is seems that a minefield is a military defense and a valid target.

    Don't get me wrong, mine clearing is a noble task and the loss was unfortinate but not entirely suprising.

    OK, from what I understand of chaos theory, the 'butterfly' affect as it is called is about something small and overlooked that has a capability of affecting the system to a great degree over time. Fair enough. There is also a part of it (It has ben a damn long time since I have studied chaos math) that states the larger the system and longer the time the more of these events are likely to happen and counter eachother to some degree leaving the general trend the same. The butterfly affects abnormally spike periods of the system not the entire 1000 years.

    Hey, they own those stations, so they have a right to choose what to play. If they think something is in bad taste, the won't play it. That's not censorship that's choice. The government hasn't told them not to play questionable songs, they decided it was in their best interest as a business or maybe in their interest as humans. This is not censorship this is a business esercising it's freedom to choose to do what it wants.
