As long as they already own the computers before hand, & as long as the computers are powerful enough, then it should be a positive step forward.
Don't forget to factor in that electricity [for computers & hydrogen cells] is often made by burning fossil fuels, & that some people walk, bike, take transit. Taking transit burns fuels, but it is much, much less compared to cars.
Also bear in mind that there are many positive aspects to being in the front row & near other people.
I don't know about you guys, but since I don't have the best hearing, the last thing that I need is the sound of key presses competing with the sound of the teacher's voice. I suppose that they could make quieter key boards, but maybe the college should just mind their own business. After all, I assume that paper will always be a more reliable storage medium compared to electrical powered devices. Anybody able to confirm that?
Will the students be able to charge their laptops for "free" or will they have to pay for it [user fees, or increased tuition, etc.]?
How will they cool the rooms? How much will it cost? I haven't worked much with laptops recently, so I won't know how hot they are these days.
If the college wants to stop polluting, then maybe it should try to find a way to make it easy for students to get to classes without driving.
Probably quite a few. We used that quite a bit in arts & crafts. I'm not sure if I knew it as a 5 year old, but I don't ever recall the word being foreign or complex, but then again, I have a bad memory.
That being said, I didn't realize that Pinkie & the Brain had such funny humour.
I laughed twice. Once when I read the 1st half of the last line, & again when I read the last half.
Thanks! I guess I will get that pellet gun, after all.
On an unrelated note, I just thought of a way to figure out what is in those bottles under the sink. 1 is water, & the other is bleach. I just can't remember which.
It's always good to take stands on issues. Just because you may not see a possibility in changing a person's opinion, doesn't mean that there aren't various incentives to speaking up.
Speaking of speaking up, that's kind of what you did, even though many of us will keep telling them to stop pirating.:^)
I've always wondered what would happen if your actual address was JohnDoeNOSPAM@server.com The spambots would truncate the text, but your friends wouldn't because you would tell them to leave it in. The spambots would eventually catch on but it would be much harder to figure out, & in the process, they may end up getting fooled by addresses which actually should be truncated.
I hear you. We had to walk that much too. In fact, 1 day, we finally got a car. When we got to school, I said to my dad, "Father, may we ride in the car next time, instead of pushing?".
In a gruff voice, he said, "No! That wastes gas!".
The Matrin County School Board has a new way of post a student's grades online for a parent to check...This has been making my life a living hell for the past 2 months, every night my parents go on and check to see if i have any homework and won't let me do anything till it's done
Son, this is your father. We've gone over your Engish so many times, & here you are still saying, "...has a new way of post a student's grades...". "post"? Also, you didn't finish your last sentence with a period. Come, come, now. I think we need more homework. You do want to win that spelling bee, don't you?
Oh, by the way son, until today, I didn't know that you posted on/. as well. It's good to see you here. Maybe we could troll together, as father & son? What do you think?
You have to remember that the majority of Americans actually believe that they "deserve" every job in the world.
Sad but true. Even sadder is the fact that that attitude rubs off on those around you. Now we all think that we deserve those jobs.;^)
Seriously, you could take comfort in the fact that that attitude is universal. I believe that that attitude is almost as universal as love & hate. Look @ Russia, China, Korea, etc. Frankly, I'd rather be "oppressed" in the US & Canada, than in Asia & Europe.
In all fairness, though, if you do leave your "stuff" there, then you should leave a note underneath it, saying, "If you don't want this sent to you anymore, then please send an email to [insert his own address here] with 'remove' in the subject line.". You could still keep leaving "stuff" there, but @ least leave the note.
I don't see a difference either. That's the only reason that I bothered to read these comments. I was hoping for a clearer definition.
To be frank, I don't really care for these people's complaints about their phrase. If they want to define it properly, then have an official place of where people can find the definiton. Otherwise shut up. Quite ironically, these masses of disorganized people are reaping the rewards of disorganization.
Just so that everybody knows, I've never heard of the phrase till today. Also, I am against redefining words & phrases. 42 days, without an official definition, is still too early to start complaining about redefinition.
I was just discussing & thinking out loud.
That's a good point.

"Eugene! Did you fart?!?"
"Well, yeah. I had to recharge my phone."

That's cool. I never even thought of that. That really brightens my day.
I was going to mention my name, but you beat me to it. :^)

Instead of fighting them, let's join them. I'll patent x^2 and you patent x^3. Just think about how rich we'll be.
