You claim to be sick of people's misconceptions. Well, fine & dandy. However, I find it suspicious that you are the 1st person after all this time to actually bring up your view. I even heard people speak about it on tv, & never did they complain about that. If it really was as you said, then they should have said what you said, because it is much more undisputable. Don't forget to factor in the fact that the voters had a chance to examine the voting technology before it actually was accepted.

That being said, if it all is exactly as you said, then I'm sorry to hear that they had to use that technology. However, if they had a chance to accept it before adopting it, then they have nobody to blame but themselves.

"This is an outrage! What do they expect?!? Do they honestly expect that we become Linux longbeards & hackers just to have a chance @ voting?"

I agree. After all, how can they honestly claim that they know what is best for the country when they can't even punch a chad that's right in front of them? If they have a tool that helps them find the right chad, then that'll be very dandy, because they are making an attempt to compensate for an apparent difficulty. There's a little more to it than that. The HIV virus has several (many?) different strains; cross-infecting an individual with different strains would be A Very Bad Thing.
Fair enough. I don't know enough about the virus to say anything for sure, but in general isn't it safe to say that someone could share organs with the person of the exact same virus? I am asking for real, & not just as something to think about.

Also, how bad is it? I mean if another strain would mean death in 4 years @ the earliest, but the infected organ would guarantee @ least another 3 years, then I don't understand the problem.

Also, are there incurable diseases that are worth having? I figure that some people would do anything to live, & since they have any infection of their own, then they shouldn't be worrying too much if the donated organ has a "small" disease. I would rather just die.

Just to clarify a bit on what I said & agree with you even more: the thing that impressed me about what you did was that you met his need & worked from there instead of trying to talk about licensing [free speech, yadda, yadda]. I liked the way that you started with a higher price & worked down from there.

On a slightly unrelated note, I think that Linux's strength is the command line, & that it would be good if we [the community in general] could try to find a way to teach people to use text based programs. I say that because I think that text based programs tend to work with each other much better, compared to graphical based 1s, & the text based 1s tend to require less hardware upgrades.

If we were to try & teach people how to use Linux, then I think that tutorials & other documentation need to teach them how to use software properly [ie: what are the correct options to pass to the binary?] & how to make it fail [ie: fill in the form in such & such a way, & then you should get this error, & you got that error because yadda yadda yadda]. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to help to know what doesn't work, just as much as it helps to know what does work.
