  1. I HATE ATI on Cheaper Video Cards Compared · · Score: 2

ATI has the worst support i have ever seen. I was going to buy their new cards until they totally dropped support for the card i had. When I got the all-in-wonder v1. they decided they weren't going to make new drivers for it when windows 98 came out, so i had to screw around with it forever. And guess what, with their drivers it was slower. Now the same card is only supported to work as a video card in win2k. I have other cards for my linux box, but they just don't care.

OH god, i've been programming all night long. I can't think strait. All I can think while typing this is how to getc and ungetc all these characters and how to write them to a file.

You keep hearing about a mp3 box/console system that will be used in a different room than your computer. This is such a stupid idea. Where are you getting the mp3s from? THE COMPUTER.

Building a mp3 box is like building home stereo for a different room that requires you to hook up a cord to your computer in a another room. That's stupid.

The TV is for Television. I don't want the slow internet blocking my tv anyway. I'd rather have a laptop in my lap, watching my tv, and listening to the mp3s on that laptop.

  15. UT on Massachusetts Universities To Require Laptops · · Score: 2

I recently went to a DELL meeting that said that everyone at UT will eventually have to buy 1 particular model of their DELL laptop or 1 model of their desktop. It's part of their tuition according to DELL. The reasoning is that the tech guys will know exactly what is wrong with them and they could fix them when there is a complaint. This is the best part, they all link up to DELL's portal to buy College Supplies. I believe this is in plans for next year.
