This struck me particularly with the last Myst installment, which for the first time introduced a couple of time-limited puzzles - a truly dumb idea in an otherwise disabled friendly series (excluding the failed attempt at a multi-player online game, with its clunky Tomb Raider style 3D navigation).
I have yet to come across a grammer checker that didn't suck donkey balls. I used to take a look at what was suggested and think "you moron, that isn't what I meant at all" or on the odd occasion it got the meaning right "what hideous syntax! Must you bore everybody to death?". They are universally useless.

No, your company is smart - why would they want to throw out software that has 10 years (or longer) of real world testing, just to replace it with something with new bells and whistles, but little real world testing?
I'm in the "enhance the old software" biz tho, so maybe I'm biased : )
Wow, that Digitale Nixieröhrenuhr
von Friedhelm Bruegmann (your last link) although hellish to translate is damned impressive - building the entire timepiece as an valve driven analog computer - and pretty too (if you like that sort of retro thing).
Don't panic, it's just another European directive - we'll just ignore it like we do most of them. Even if somebody in power gives enough of a damn to enforce it, it will take ten years for them actually get around to it, and not without much grumbling and demands for the EU to actually fund its implementation, at which point it will get cut from the budget and quietly forgotten about.
I must admit I am surprised Jeremy Paxman is still working for them, or that anybody agrees to be interviewed by him. Even when he is interviewing people you dislike, you cant help feeling sorry for them. He is an obnoxious c*nt of the first order.
I was not suggesting that our use of fossil fuels relates to the mass of the Earth, more offering it up as an example of how we have a history of grossly under-estimating our environmental impact.
Without getting into specific figures or minerals, say 100th of the mass of the moon was useful minerals. Given sufficent time and need, say we extracted this and removed it from the Moon. What would be the impact on its orbit?
I have made another comment below concerning the current excitement about extracting hydrogen as an "alternate" source of fuel. Where do they plan extract the hydrogen from? Water. Give us a few thousand years, and we could make this place as arid as Mars.
The materials we mine here do not reduce the mass of the Earth, since all the products and byproducts remain part of the mass of the Earth - albeit on the surface.
I don't know can jump to the conclusion "there's no way humans can mine a significant fraction of the Moon's mass". We are doing a pretty good job of exhausting the Earth's "limitless" supply of fossil fuels...
The thought of returning the minerals to earth is worrying, because we have no idea what the long term effect of changing the mass of the moon might be...
since you are talking about Sky, I assume you are a Brit. HBO is a commercial free channel, that you must pay extra to receive from your cable company, on top of your basic cable package.
So downloading their shows from the internet without being a subscriber to their service is in no way "fair use".
Considering they produce some of the best drama shows in the US, I really can't condone piracy of these programs - but please rip off all the Britany Spears crapola you can;)
Just insert a "the" before "kick-off", and "the default" before "file format".
Replace "kick-off" with "beginning" if you're not a sports fan.
Happy now? Ok, now change your sig to read "the quality of grammer and spelling used here is appalling". Although it could be said that the quality of Spanish used here is pretty bad!

Eh? You buy hardware, you license software. Are you trying to claim Apple software does not have EULAs? Think again...

Worse, it killed my DVD drive. I just ripped SP2 out again, the DVD drive comes back. Like a lot of others, I said forget it.

So what's the price range for your service?
Title says it all, really. Altho I still have alot of CDs to rip...

Isn't anybody concerned that if we form a dependency on hydrogen power that we could end up consuming all the water on the planet?
