In 100 years, the only archival footage available to historians will be pirated copies of films. We all know Hollywood was already letting films rot in the vaults before they got all paranoid about the scourage of perfect digital copies.
I thought the LCD industry had solved this problem. Don't most LCD designs now use multiple subpixels per pixel so they have spares for any bad pixels?
People starve to death all of the time all the world over, and nobody does dick. Some damn American starves to death, and they make a big deal about it.
If I was a petty bureaucrat and some tinfoil hat wearing, snotnosed teenager whined at our using SSNs for IDs and insisted that we provide an alternate number, I'd be sure to put in their records - "Alternate ID # 3423-233-222 assigned in lieu of SSN # 773-39-9037"
They may be allowed to dress them up pretty, but they're still veal pens. Those poor bastards probably work 60 - 80 - 90 hours a week 50 weeks a year. They might as well be chained to their desk. Stupid Americans.
