    Seriously though, I'm getting annoyed with the **PA gestapos blaming a DISTRIBUTION PROTOCOL (a damn useful one at that) instead of the insiders that obviously put it online in the first place!

    Christ, why don't we blame TCP/IP, phone lines, cable, and Cat-5 while we're at it?

    Dude, I know what you mean. I have a 1991 Ford Tempo and despite all the available AM and FM signals, I can't get any reception. Of course, the radio was ripped out of the car. I'll have to see if it's can take bluetooth signals

    I'm not sure if this applies specifically to USB Flash drives, but I've heard that flash media in general can only handle so many writes before they lose reliability and crap out.

    Of course, I have no idea what will happen in the practical sense, plus I doubt it would be any worse than using CD-RWs over again.

    So I'm sure YMMV.

    Am I missing something? I was under the impression that a "bootable" drive was a drive that was formatted to be bootable AND the computer has to support booting from USB.

    As for write protection, I have a Memorex traveldrive that has a write-protect switch, that i never really bothered to use :P

    Ugh, sounds...painful.

    We have P3-450MHz PCs with 128MB RAM that used to run Win95, which seemed fine with our software, but the higher ups decided to image them with XP this year. As a result, there's a lot more hard drive thrashing and that's JUST the OS in it. :P

    Fortunately, those ARE the bottom of the barrel PCs that we have. *shudders*
