In an unrelated note, one of Pentagon officials voiced his excitement about new super secret weapon system that is going to be used as an anti-terrorist measure. First tests are scheduled for early next year. "We're going to crush that evil terrorist organization led by Laden once and for all ! They would think that sky is falling !".

However, we were not able to get an explanation about "falling sky"; "it is a secret, you know", we were told.

Also, we were informed by one of our sources, close to Pentagon, that there seem to be a huge demand for hard working hats among US military officials.

However, we still don't know either these two facts are related.

In an unrelated news, NASA said they launched a new web site dedicated to the history of a series of their Pioneer probes. It can be reached at http://www.pioneer6.orbit.sun.space.com.

However, the site seemed to be down during the first several hours after it's launch. We contacted one of the NASA representatives, this is what he told our reporter:
"That site doesn't have enough bandwidth to handle thousands of requests from people all around the world. We also had to ban visitors that came from a popular discussion site Slashdot - there were just too many of them".

To the question if NASA is planning on enhancing the communication channel, we were told that this is impossible at this time.

Some people who were able to get through to the site, told us that it was very slow, download speed did not exceed 16bps. "You should not put banners on top of that page - it's slowing my browser to a halt", one angry web surfer said in an email to NASA.

You can write your own and send them out all you want.

One thing wrong with MS approach of publishing advisories on their site only - narrowing circle of people who would read them. Instead of following one reliable source of security related info, BugTraq, I'd have to spend twice as much time going through 5-6 differend sites.

And hey, MS should care about people patching their machines/being informed about bugs. The buggier their products are, the less people will use them. IMHO, as usual :)
