Yep the space ships computers hold vasts amount of data and they get regular updates. Example In the Next Generation there was an episode dealing with a group of people called the "Binars" who downloaded their entire populations memory into the ships computer. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0708668/
When I downloaded and installed the free media center add on, which is what he did, it says you need to keep and use the new key that they gave for use in the future. So the question is why didn't he. I think this really is just a case of someone for forgot that message.
The real question is what caused the activation screen to come up.
It really takes the cake when I see things like this. "was little more than a collection of existing technologies built by others." don't we all build off of others?
Anyone know where I can send my grant proposal? I figure several million dollars will be needed so I can go around the testing this theory that people will be distracted by this HUD thing. I expect tests in age and a few conditions and settings and so forth will be necessary). I expect to end it with a conference in tropical a paradise where notes on this will be shared after my paper on this are sent and accepted by several peer review papers.
Alright it's not built by them. they bought it from Motorola. It's called a Motoactv and Google hasn't done anything with it yet. there has been no development on it since Google bought Motorola out and I hope that if this is true they start doing something with it.
I would defiantly buy another one once this one dies. I just, like everyone, would love more features and longer battery life.
Here is part of a post I've posted about it before.
It's a great device it's an MP3 player, exercise tracker that ties into a heart rate monitor or cadence sensor for biking, displays calories burned and number of steps taken in a day, It's got golf courses on it so you can see the distance stuff needed to play and keep your scores (I don't play golf), it has a GPS to show your route (wish it was more interactive on what you can do other than just see your you just ran) and the statistics that it keeps for your workouts. When tired into the website (it also has a android app) I can see exactly where I was on a map and show what my heart rate was, what song I was listening to at that moment, speed of my run, elevation of where I was. It tells time to. But it doesn't have an alarm clock also it doesn't vibrate, during workouts there is a coach that gives you information it's an electronic voice (a nice female sounding voice) , The device allows you to also race yourself with tones of if your running better or slower against your last workout. It's Bluetooth enabled so you can use Bluetooth headphones and also for notifications from the phone - weather, facebook, etc. Also has the ability to have a corded headphones if you want and you can then also use it as a radio. It's water resistant so a run in the rain is not a problem, wish it was water proof. Also it has to be charged every day. I really love it. I'm just said that once it dies I will not be able to get a replacement, although there are other ones that are out there that have gps and tie into online exercise communities they don't have an mp3 player built in. I do wish the battery lasted longer but when I'm not running I'm sitting at my computer so I let it charge then.

It better have a way of telling me that it's on. A flashing light, a noise when it's taking a picture also not to mention the laws about recording sound. I know when I put a servalance camera in my front yard I was told by police that in my state I can not record sound without the permission of the people who would be videoed. Also we need to think of the kids. How can we be sure our kids are safe from acvdental looks in windows and such if they can do play back. I can just see the conversation "Oh I'm sorry your kid was in their bedroom changing when I walked by and was already videoing and acdentally caught them underssed. I only saw what I recorded in the play back once and then deleted it. yea yea I'll deleted it." or "Oh I forgot it was recording when I walked into the wrong dressing room. I'll deleted it, yea, yea I'll deleted it."
Also what about other places like museums where you can't take photos of the paintings and such, I guess they will be banned from use, but if they have perscription lenses I guess a refund to the patron will be given.
You beat me to the punch. I would contact a gold recovery company. Send all that stuff in and get cold hard cash to buy new useful equipment.http://www.archenterprises.com/gold-refining.html
Was the exchange rate wrong? What am I missing? If the document stated the price in US dollars and was clearly marked as being US dollars why would one care that they paid Canadian Dollars if the paper had the correct exchange rate and listed it in US dollars. Or is it that it did but didn't list the exchange rate at the time? Or is it that the document said the price was (example) $4,000,000 when it should have been C$4,000,000?
I can just see this arcades like Dave & Busters having a "membership only area" where for the price a quarter you can join with parents consent where that quarter will be applied to your first game. That would be away around it, right?
Can't they just lay claim like the Bering Sea Gold Miners (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2182427/) do? They use GPS coordinates to plot an area where the claim is. Or is it the meteors move from sector to sector so that is not possible? Also in other mining places like California you can make the claim but you also have to prove that you are doing something with it.
I think you could be on to something. Just like the "Opti-Grab" handles in "The Jerk" movie (1979) where everyone ended up cross-eyed who used them because the eye was drawn to the little handle that held the glasses on the face. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079367/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079367/synopsis
So this will be interesting to see what kind of ergonomic issues that will come up from using it.
I really would love to know the specifications of this device. I really can't see the battery and everything being in the frame like the pictures show. My Motoactv battery only lasts a day and that is if I don't use it as a mp3 player and lap counter for my workouts. This is going to be accessing the internet, video, etc.I really would love to know the specifications on how long it's battery may last. Or are the pictures not showing the cable to the power pack that will be on your hip?
I have a Motoactv that is now defunct, thanks to Google only wanting the patents off of Motorola. Oh the battery is not replaceable either.
A few years ago I was in the position of changing doctors and had a very hard time getting my data from my old doctor to the new. I had to constantly go after them to get copies. They kept putting it off and at one point said they owned the records since they prescribed any and everything medical for me. I explained that I owned my records, they may own the paper printed but the information is mine. I bought and paid for the tests and I paid the doctor to decide what tests needed to diagnose my problems and issues. I'm even paying them to keep my records safe by going to them all the time , being my primary care physician. As long as I am a customer of theirs they are happy with keeping my records on file and "lending" out as needed to doctors they refer me to but as soon as I said I was changing doctors (I moved and wanted a closer doctor then the 1.5 hour drive it would now take to get to my old one) they got all up in my face over my records.saying they owned them. After 3 months I finally got my records which really pushed me back 3 months on any medical diagnoses and treatments since the new doctor didn't want to start or stop anything the old doctor told me to do since he didn't have any facts of what my history was at the time. So now any tests I have done I make sure I get a copy for my own records and keep them in my safe at home.

I just hope that it's stable. Just look at what Mr. Bean does to the 3 wheeled car all the time. http://youtu.be/Gb54PRcekIY
The movie Stealth did a pretty good one. Hacking sure but what about a lighting strike making the AI go wrong. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stealth_(film)

When I tried the link to the article it didn't work that's why I'm asking.

I'be been using this antenna booster for years it makes your phone act like the antenna is 6 foot long. Oh wait I just looked at what the article is talking about. How can w be sure this is not Ming from Flash Gordon (1980 movie) that sent it since Flash stopped him the last time?

Didn't see that on Dilbert. Wally would be proud!
I wonder how much did it cost for the merchants to change their equipment to do this?
