As an old white guy I can say I enjoyed watching movies from around the world and that spanned the generations. I had at least 1 more year of serious mining of their collection, maybe longer as they kept adding new stuff.
As for buying watching movies, I found I don't watch many movies more than one or twice. Some I do, but those are definitely the minority. FilmStruck was a great resource. I hope someone else will pick up the banner once they are gone!
Opinions are like assholes, we all have one and they all stink. Who gives a rat's ass about what this guy thinks, unless you want to make C++ better, or you think like him and have your favorite language that is not C++ you wish everything is written in.
Reduced disease and overall made our communities (at least those that have them) much better places to live. Not to mention, I can poop in the comfort and warmth of my home without is smelling!

Well, look at it this way, if a dinosaur stepped in mud and left a print, then a man came along and stepped in the same mud and left a print, it's hard to believe there were millions of years between the two incidents. If what you say is true than the science of determining the passage of time through stratification is just plain false. Even a thousand years or so leaves things buried, that is why we have archaeological digs. I know there are exceptions, but I find it hard to believe that the mud the dinosaur stepped in was uncovered by an earthquake or whatever and still fresh enough that some human could leave a print in it a million years later.
No, and I hope that you are not so stupid just to assume that it is fake just because you don't think it's real. I trust the dude by the Paluxy River more than I trust your sage insight, though not enough to believe it without some form of verification. Hence, I figured this was a great time to get the opinion of a guy who has probably studied the evidence.

In the end, nothing is free. It all costs us something. We may not see it (such as corporate taxes) but in the end we all do pay for it.

When a bank gets robbed, us citizens pay for the loss either through bank fees and such or through the (in the case of the us) fdic. In either case, the money is gone. Before fdic came along, if a bank was robbed of enough, it went under and everyone lost their money.
Go to school!! That or get ready for many years of having to work harder just to prove yourself over and over again! Another alternative is contract to hire. That may work as well.
On another note,hopefully you have learned about the necessity of Version control. You also hopefully have been learning good CS practices such as only having one source for information (code functionality is information) abstraction etc. There are good reasons for these practices and the sooner you learn them the more valuable you will be.
Also, don't be a information hoarder or a primadona! Be willing to talk and work withouther sharing ideas and concepts. Sometimes the idiot next to you will surprise you with just all that he does really know.

If your job is answering emails!!! If you are swamped with work, you might just have 1 unread email in your inbox. Then again, it just might be a spam that slipped past the spam filter (i hear it even happens with google).
Still, I hope to God that my inbox stats are never used as the measure of my work load!

Personally, I find that Qt (C++ api from Nokia) has a nice sql api which will were with several database engines. Maybe not as mind numbingly simple as VB, but very versatile and easy to use.
It is just the nature of Tablets to kill NetBooks. Typically it is done through choking but there have been a few cases of stabbings and drownings as well.
I found that some of my best fun is to write software to test my software. Fortunately, I have written server code for a long time so I either get to write clients to exercise it or hardware device simulators to emulate devices the server talks to.
Loads of fun! Quite often, more fun than the SW I'm supposed to be writing.
