  1. Possible abuses on Hotmail: Not Safe For Work? · · Score: 2, Interesting
I can only imagine the mischievous ends the following can be put to (from the FAQ):

    18. I do not have physical access to the PC I wish to monitor. Does
    eBlaster support remote installation?

If you purchase the eBlaster Remote Install Add-On, you may be able to send the program installation file to another email address.

Assuming that the receiving email client will allow the receipt of a .EXE file attachment and that the user opening the email clicks on the file attachment, then eBlaster will automatically install itself on that computer. Once installed on the remote computer, eBlaster will send recordings from that computer to your email address.

VERY IMPORTANT: You MUST be the owner of the computer to which you are remotely installing eBlaster. If you are NOT the owner, or have not received permission from the owner to install eBlaster on that computer, you could be in violation of state or local law by monitoring the activities of property that does not belong to you.

And guess what, African Americans are not the victims of the white bigots. African Americans are victims of their own culture, and until you realize that, you will never progress in society as a culture. The perfect example of this is Tupac Shakur who wanted everyone to believe he was a "thug" growing up on the streets, when he really was a middle-class kid living in a gated community in the middle of Virginia.

I wasn't aware that every black person listened to Tupac Shakur, or that performers like him were synonymous with "black culture." In fact, the largest demographic of hip-hop consumers comprises white, suburban teenagers.

Poor educational opportunities, urban flight, lack of transportation to the few jobs available, and a Democratic Party that forgets black people 24 hrs. after Election Day are more salient inhibitors of "progress in society" than the late Tupac Shakur and his ilk.

Not to mention the fact that it's quite presumptuous to assume that every black person in America is on the same journey (i.e. "progress in society").

Yeah, I was one of the "thieves" that downloaded Attack of the Clones the day after its release, denying the movie industry of its precious profits.

Oops! I forgot to mention that I waited in line 3 hours to see it on opening midnight, and that I saw it 3 more times, including once on a digital screen. That's $40 for tickets (NYC prices). Yeah, MPAA, that download was one hell of a "lost sale."

A television is a combination of a display and a receiver (for TV signals). Perhaps A/V manufacturers should start selling displays without the excess (i.e. a cable box/satellite receiver suffices). A few companies already manufacture such monitors for institutional use (presentation, closed-circuit broadcast), so why not spread the love?

A film is a time sequence of images (not necessarily chronological) often intermixed with audio. "Impart[ing] human feelings via relationships and understanding" is neither a necessary nor a sufficient condition of filmmaking. It's also a muddled notion of aesthetics. Some aestheticians have remarked that, "Art expresses human emotions," but this is a theory of beauty and certainly debatable. Furthermore, some films--concept films mostly--lack both characters and plot, and this is by design.

Distaste is not a reason for trolling.

I'm tired of the "Power of Myth" bullshit. It's an excuse for many talking heads to reconcile their pseudointellectualism with one of the few guilty pleasures they allow themselves (i.e. Star Wars). After immersing myself in the films, books, and comics over the years I've come to two conclusions:
    1. The real "meaning" of Star Wars is the fantasy world that the movies and books describe.
    2. George Lucas is emperor of the fan club.

Some of us don't need to justify to ourselves our pleasure in exploring a fascinating imaginary world.
