We the Government/Republicians/etc are not out to haraas but simply trying to track delegates who are aligned with the Democratic/Green/etc party. We need to keep them under control as they are dangerous individuals who are known to back the anti-democratic minority. The procedure is similar to implementation of criminal registration procedures.

You have confused socialism with megacorp consulting. One of these is effective, albeit expensive (e.g. tax extravaganza). The other is simply expensive. I think the problem here is not that the policy is misguided, but that various levels of government assume that IBM can do a better job of setting up a school network than a bunch of geeks from the local college.

You should give Temple of Elemental Evil a try. It was developed by Troika, the developers of Arcanum and Fallout (when some of the team members were working at Interplay). It's a little thin on story, but peerless in hardcore, tactical combat. It's one of the few turn-based CRPGs you can find on the shelves today and is probably the most complete implementation of the DnD combat rules ever.

How long will it be before high-speed ISPs lose their customer base by bending over for the content cartel?

    1. "Had" is the past tense of "have/has". Even Jesus told the President so.

    2. "Belief" is necessary but not sufficient for "knowledge". The absence of evidence should be a basis for gathering more evidence, not a rush to war. The evidence-gathering process, which may have demonstrated the falsity of the "conventional wisdom," was interrupted by neoconservative saber-rattling and a general impatience with discourse and reason (something this Adminstration is all to well know for).

    3. "We know where the weapons are..." presumes that you can point to the weapons or tell someone where to find them. Perhaps you have pictures of the weapons in the context of their location or independently verifiable accounts of said weapons. Or, perhaps, "know" means "Jesus said so," and that explains the trouble the world is in.
