The Administration has handed out the lastest mix of koolaid, and pundits and the SCLM have started to drink. Isn't this "crisis" eerily similar to the prelude to war?
1. Manufacture crisis 2. Expect the SCLM to toe the line 3. Ridicule anyone who has doubts or raises tough questions (see 2) 4. Profit!!!!
Our secondary education system, as a whole, leaves much to be desired. Most Americans know less of American history than recent immigrants. Forgive the ignorant, for they know not what they post to slashdot.
Actually, EA pitched a similar exclusivity deal to the NFL a few years ago (which the league declined at the time). This kind of thing has been EA's idea for quite some time.
United States != Israel, no matter how much you want this to be the case! Last time I checked, those of Palestinian origin have civil, property, and voting (if they are citizens) rights anywhere in the US.
There are large numbers of Palestinians living in Dearborn, Michigan and the NYC metro area who don't live in fear of airstrikes or having their houses bulldozed, and SURPRISE! no suicide bombings.
Use your brain. Do you think the NFL approached EA or vice-versa? Hint: consider EA's history of innovation and customer-focused game development (e.g. $50 Madden vs. $20 2k5, and johnny-come-lately support for XBox Live). Yeah...
He uses flash memory as storage/media. No moving parts means no hard drive (i.e. the one with platters), no fans (cpu or psu), or cd/floppy drives. I guess the keyboard/mouse you attach to it would have moving parts (not necessarily), but his impetus was to create a true "noiseless" pc. Also, the ones he showed to me were in mini-attache cases, making them look like spy gear or something.
Check out Dynamism for import gear with US warranties and support. Compact Impact has some cool gear to show off, and also has a showroom in the East Village (this store was previously named TKNY). If you are a New Yorker, the showroom is worth a visit, because the owner is a wacky guy who makes custom computers without moving parts.
I only have seen this show before: some group with no axe to grind and is objective as one can be says there is a problem (tobacco causes cancer, whatever...). Big corporations hire lawyers, PR firms, their own "experts" blah blah blah attacking this effort. Soon they're putting commercials on TV, catch phrases and so forth. Soon I hear the same thing coming out of people's mouths at lunchtime, they're complaining about trial lawyers or something. If one pays close attention to this, it's a little Orwellian how a phrase created at a PR company, which was hired by a corporation, makes its way onto television, into the ear of your coworker and out of his mouth.
This is the problem in contemporary America, and unfortunately it's getting worse each day.
Why do people mostly complain about DEMOCRATIC countries that do this but give a pass to China who not only throws a ton of money into their space race, their military, and such and at the same time likes to whack 5000+ of thier own people?
Because China, unlike India, is more than hype. There's a lot of talk coming from India, but few accomplishments vs. China.
For every thoughtful Republican like yourself, there are at least two who want to crusade against the "evildoers" abroad and keep the faggots in the closet at home. You are a reasonable person, but your "counterparts" will be the ruin of a free society and a great nation.
If the worlds nations treat each other as peers and equals the world will be a lot better place.
Yeah, if. When has this ever happened, for a sustained period of time, in the entire sweep of human history? States seek power, be it through alliances, food, or bombs.
I'll address this. I'm a senior security engineer for a major corporation. We, too, have a policy against running any unapproved software on workstations owned by the company.
Why aren't your PCs locked down to prevent employees from installing software without authorization? You're a security expert, not the director of HR!
I am 24 make 46K live five miles from work in fairfax VA and save 7% into my 401K... WTF makes you think wow I need 100k to be happy.
We hope you enjoyed your stay in Bachelorhood. The wife and kids will be here shortly.

The parent's comment was about terseness, not readability. Why must a programming language be pitched toward the lowest common denominator. Not having to poop out five lines of code to reverse a list or string is IMHO a cool feature of a terse language.

In this case, EA's interests conflict with gamers' (we want choice). So yes, it is well and good that we f'ing blame them.

Titties and ass, at least as far as heterosexual males (pehraps the questioning too) are concerned. A wise man called this phenomenon "hormones."

You spoiled the article, asshat. Next time, would you rot13 the text please? Some people...
Isn't Wyoming full of independent-minded gun owners who value their privacy?

You can learn a lot about human anatomy with all that bandwidth!

The clock is ticking.
The Third World, no longer disadvantaged by farm subsidy welfare, would be more than willing to export food to the Blue States of America.
Whatever. b00bies rock. :)
