    The only reason that the fairness doctrine was needed was because media outlets were owned by a few rich and powerful people. Opposing points of view couldn't get to the public otherwise.

    Literally anyone can start their own blog for free and talk about anything they want. If a blogger is saying something that you disagree with, there is no need to force him to display your opinions on his blog. Just start your own.

    The human is able to identify and describe weak, strong, living and dead shapes (I know barely anything about Go. I'm just going by what the GP said). Can you look at a log of the computer's 'thought' process and see where it is grouping together the same squares?

    Forget using the Blu-Ray's massive capacity to give us better resolution. Use it to give us more content. Give us a movie and every documentary and interview that the people involved have given about the movie on a single disk. Give us an entire season of a TV series on one disk, eventually the whole series on one disk.

    The benefits in picture quality do not justify upgrading from DVD, but if they put more stuff on the disk, that just might be worth it.

    Isn't the biggest problem (ok, biggest technical problem) with in vitro meat the fact that the muscle tissue that it grows can't get any exercise and is therefore soft and textureless?

    Couldn't this help with that problem?

    Take a look at all the newsgroups you listed. What do they all have in common besides being in the alt. hierarchy? Here's a hint. Look at the second item in the name.

    They aren't just dropping alt.binaries. They are dropping the entire alt. hierarchy. Including the ones where you can't even trade files.

    These people have admitted that they only found child porn in 88 of the 100,000 newsgroups.

    Like you said, the problem isn't conservatives or liberals. The problem is the extremists on both sides.

    The difference is that liberal extremists can spell correctly, put together a coherent sentence (if not a coherent argument), and use big words... while being incredibly stupid at the same time. The morons who happen to be liberals are just harder to detect if you aren't paying attention.
