    If you mention this, you also have to mention Leon M. Lederman's "The God Particle", which is, except for its ridiculous title, simply wonderful. Lederman continually cracks mediocre jokes for a few hundred pages, and when you finished the book, you somehow learned the history and principles of particle physics, QED and QCD.

    It may be that people who own cats (and take care of them, the others die of toxoplasmosis anyway) have a certain socioeconomic status that enables them to do so. A cat costs approx $1 a day. This group of people ("Caring Cat Owners") therefore is more likely to take better care of their own bodies, have a more nutritious diet and so on, therefore living healthier lives...

    That might just be because GANDALF IS IN FACT A LESSER DEITY.

    Gandalf is one of the Istari (the Wise Ones), and the best-known Maiar (lesser deities) of Valinor (Westernesse, the Tolkien mythology's notion of paradise), sent to middle earth by the Valar (greater deities) to help the free peoples to fight the threat of Sauron.

    Nintendo got the pricing right with the GC and will stick to that if they're not totally braindead.
    We have four kids, and no other gaming console could ever beat the fun the Nintendo boxen are when played by a mixed-generation crowd.

    Uh, it just occured to me that maybe this is not what the XBOX360 or PS3 are about...

    I will wait for the Nintendo Revolution.

    XBOX360 and PS3 bring nothing new to gaming, in my opinion. I AM really tired of things like FIFA 2023 and Splinter Cell XVII.

    But if Nintendo really pull off their controller ideas... I believe this is good for a genuine gaming experience.

    Yeah, I pirate Star Trek: Enterprise.
    I'm german, the german synchro sucks big time, and I do not want to wait until the TV honchos allow me to pay about $80 for a season on DVD.
    Waiting a week for the next show is essential for my being interested in a TV series.
    I would pay a moderate fee per download, if that was at all possible.

    Well, killing Banner Ads and the like is most easy, even without waste of bandwidth:
    There are /etc/hosts files out there that list all known Banner Ad servers with the IP adress 127.0.0.1, i.e. your local machine. As the requested images cannot be found on localhost, the request for them will fail, and that fast as the request is local.
    And if a server is not on the list: Just paste it into your /etc/hosts and Ads will get blocked.
