I guess you didn't read the part where the person at the information booth asked her what was on her shirt and she just walked away w/o answering. What you suggested as the conversation is what should have taken place, but didn't. Who is at fault for that?
The news reports that I saw said that she walked away from the information booth w/o answering the person's questions about what was on her shirt. IMHO, that's what probably made people suspicious.
After it has been plastered all over the news, lots of people are going to know what "Course VI" is referring to. If you would have asked me last week or even 17 years ago when I was taking CsC/EE classes what it meant, I wouldn't have been able to tell you. Who keeps up on how various schools refer to their degree programs other than the people who have gone there?
They need to tell their merchants that. I've been asked for ID several times in a few stores. They check if the signature on the sales receipt matches the card too.
How about we just concentrate on keeping intelligent, qualified people interested in IT & engineering careers? Unless you're trying to date your co-workers, why does it matter how many men & women are in particular job?
so what was the dividing line? If it was the Mississippi River, I'd imagine all the German descendants in the Great Plains from TX to ND would be pissed they weren't in the half controlled by by the Germans.
IIRC, I paid about $30-40 for my prepaid phone. The rates are 10 cents a minute for phone calls, 5 cents per SMS message. The accumulated balance will roll over.
For the Canadians that are working in the US, how has this affected your student loan payments? Have you been following the exchange rates and making the appropriate adjustments in what you've been paying, or have you just been paying them off in US$ units and using the currency exchange advantage to pay off the principle sooner?
Chrysler cancelled the Neon and I can't recall what they're making in the Belvidere, IL plant at the moment. Probably one of the 'crossover' or mini SUVs.
Canada, Japan, the UK, the US, France, Germany, Australia, etc are all largely service based economies if you look at the percentage of their GDP that's due to services.
How much would the price of the Nissans, Toyotas, etc that are made in the US change? Would the parent companies decide to start exporting more of these vehicles to other markets or are they just for the US?
Another reason people have that impression is that most of the cheap consumer grade stuff that they buy at the big box retail outlets. They pick whatever has the lowest price and that will usually result in something made in a 3rd world nation. If they were shopping for quality, then they may be able to get something made in the US (even at WalMart - I bought a US made can opener there a few months ago).
Of course it's bullshit. However, it does illustrate the views of many people about the NY Times and its handling of national security related stories.
Are the jovial based systems in the AWACS units being replaced too? If not, the USAF still has a need for those programmers. Why not move the system to a new IBM z-series and train new people under the direction of the old programmers? Most of those 1000 30-somethings may not be worth a damn compared to those old guys and you'll be spending a lot of time weeding them out.
Just get a few TV stations to proclaim how your discovery will cure all the world's problems, is the greatest thing since sliced bread, etc, and then wait for the investors with more money than brains to throw heaps of money your way.
1.5G of RAM? Sheesh. I'd expect all the available binaries to be loaded into memory with that much RAM, so it better be responsive. That doesn't sound like anything I'd want to run on my laptop w/ 256M of RAM.
I'd guess that Sansa, Creative, and the other "Plays For Sure" hardware makers will be the ones running ads for this service and will be trying to hype it since the other online music services haven't helped them much.
what happens in 2010?
It's not even close to the end of 2008 yet either, so why don't we wait a year and see how it pans out before we declare it a failure?
Nope. They may produce disproportionate number, but that doesn't mean they're distributed evenly.

MIT people don't clean up and wash their hands after a project?
maybe the person at the info booth was alarmed by this and the stick figure in flames on her shirt.
Thugs love unarmed people and an unarmed cop would be just another victim.

Fuel in the US is taxed at the Federal & state level (maybe even local in some places). It is not subsidized.
what company offers this plan?
