No They dont contain many moving parts if any, compressed air and fuel from the "tank" should produce enough power for a phone without any pumps or anything
I would assume they meen the refill is the size and shape of a cigarette lighter, which would be nice that way you can cary them every ware, even planes (do airlines even let you carry lighters on planes anymore or did that stop with the whole 9/11 crap) would make a good emergancy phone for when you dont have access to a plugin to recharge
Windows XP come with just one icon on the desktop "Recycle Bin" thats it, if you want ie or my documents you have to turn the icon on, now if you buy a computer from best buy for example you end up with a crap load of icons everything from aol to websites trying to sell you books. Microsoft does not put them there, the people who made the computer did and even best buy will stick a few on. Also comes with new connection wizard that pritty much does what the mac does thoe insted of just earthlink it gives you a list of isp's in your area code and lets you choose, and no they din't steal it from apple its been in windows sence win98 as internet connection wizard, I think you can even get it for win95 if you install ie 4+
have you tried winex... the thing is a pain in the ass to get working and even if you do get it running the few games that do work run like crap, slow and lots of glitchs. even if the game has a 5 rating doesnt meen it will work on your system, much less bug free. and so far the only games that do have a linux port are FPS, I remember back in 97' when I first started to use linux and managed to get doom II to work relativly easy I thought "damn, linux is cool, I can't wait for more games to be ported" now here we are 2003 and still nothing but the most popular fps, while nice, it is just not enough. WineX is a great idea, what I would like to see is game developers spend at least 2 week at the end of the development to try and get it to work with winex and then include a copy of the cvs winex with the game

so its like a tape recorder only with flash ram and a usb port, and a timer, wow how innovative....
And only 150$, what a deal, no wait never mind I'll get a 160gig hd or a midrange video card insted then I'll go down to wal mart and get a tape recoreder for 10$ and just hook it up to my sound card for thoes times I want to save the mindless chater of talk radio to my computer.
I can see how this would be a cool thing if it was like 50$ but 150$ just for a audio recorder is too much
yes I know it can play mp3 but it only comes with 32 megs of ram
that's not the problem the problem is that some developer for example may include some gpl code, possibly without thinking about it simply couse they are used to useing it for thier gpl based programs (aka cut&paste programmers). next thing you know the company releases the software, someone finds outs and the company ends up in hot water. Unless the company keeps the closed source and open source programmers seperated, such a thing is very possible. gpl code sneaks into closed source all the time thing is unless its a very clear GUI thing that people can spot and say "hey thats a gpl widget" its not likely to get reported
Maybe AOL's mgmt wanted to shift Winamp to a pay for or adware product
back in the day winamp was shareware I dont remember the limitations if any, but it was ~20$, thing is no one was buying so they just said screw it and made it freeware
paint case black with gray spots, buy alien "action" figures glue figures to case. cut holes in case in a strange alien look, cover with green plexiglass and thats about it realy, its not much of a case mod just typical paint and glue things to the case, the only real modding Is ware they cut a hole in the top of the case and installed a fan under some decorations
The matrix was a good movie but come one thats it a movie. it had so many holes in the plot like why the robots did not just switch too nuclear or something far more powerfull then sucking body heat from people who are living in a virtual world. It seems like every week or so slashdot posts a story about some long ass report about how the matrix could be real. You dont have to justify likeing a movie, just enjoy the movie how it is a kung foo/super human/slowmotion fights. reminds me of that theme song from mystery science theater 3000 (something like) "if your wondering how they eat and sleap and other science facts, repeat to yourself its just a show you shood realy just relax"

It will only effect netscape 7+, while mozilla is somewhat sponserd by aol (many netscape programmers put a lot of work into mozilla). even if aol pulled support for mozilla the oss community would just take on the project. A prime example of how opensource can actualy work
one small bug with mozilla 1.4x and win xp is that when you try to save a file mozilla will add stuff to the file name, for example file.mpg will be saved as file.mpg.mpeg. that by itself isnt a problem but when you run across a file like file.avi.torrent mozilla insted of launching bittorrent will try to save the file as file.avi.torrent.avi which is a pain in the ass
this thing reminds me of that 3d party cdrom drive for the n64, the idea was that you could make your own games or download freeware games and play them on your n64 without making your own cart, as if no one was going to just download and burn warez with it. as far as movies go i dont think so, the little snes style chip in the gba is not near powerfull enough to play even the smallest divx at anything greater then a few fps. Just like the cd drive for the n64 nintendo will just keep suing them till they dont have the money to defend themselfs
I have a VIA P4X400 chipset. from my exp its crap compared to the intel chipset in my last MB(same cpu and cards just new MB), for one if you wish to run winxp you have to install the via 4-1 drivers failure to do so right away after installing XP will result in lockups every few min. also the speed is not constent its oftin so slow it feals like my p4 2ghz is a 200mhz. Under linux I get all sorts of strange problems not counting the ones related to agp 3.0, like many distro's wont connect to the network like mandrake and knoppix. it will see the card and install the driver but dhcp wont connect, and yes I've tried useing 3 other nics I've had lying around and none of them will work. strangly enough redhat, debian and libranet are the ony ones I managed to get online with
It doesn't matter if the website was made on saturday , or wensday. anytime a website comes out with new code, its going to fuck up in the first few days. there is just no cheap way to test a website with a full load of users all with difrent OS's, web browsers, and connections. how many times has slashdot craped out when they update the slashcode
well the only problem I could think of is becouse the disks go bad after being exposed to air that the disks were made for basicly at 1x dvd, ripping at 16x may couse the disks to go bad before its even done ripping ( moving at such a high speed will couse the air to move faster over it and could couse the chemical to react much faster then it can handle) the workaround would be just to rip at 1x
thats easy, just put a 1$ deposit/recyceling fee, say for example you you get the movie you pay 4$ and when you return the disk they give you 1$ back, so not only are you back at the store you have at least a 1$ back to get another movie, plus this will solve most of the eviromental problems people bring up
a hour and a half long movie is about 4 gigs so yes you can fit a whole movie on one dvd-r without extras, however long movies take lord of the rings FOTR ( the single disk version) for example takes about 8 gigs
most people say x is bloated, becouse of how little X does. from what I can tell all it does is serve fonts and networktransparancy. if you want to do anything usefull you have to add a window manager, a cut & paste manager, and a toolkit of somesort (gtk for example) hell even windows 3.1 does far more then X and can be cut down under a meg and still be 100% usefull, not to mention that adds a multitasking ( a bad one but still) to the OS (dos) ( I could be wrong there but X feals like its just useing the kernels multitasking) also what most desktop users find a pain in the ass with X is that most applications dont interact with eachother corectly (i.e. drag and drop doesnt work 80% of the time unless all you use is kde apps) Im sick of hearing the pro-X argument "IF X doesnt do what you want just add to it" the problem is you shoodnt have to add to it just to do basic stuff
the problem with ut2003 and linux is that the 3d drivers that come with xfree wont work with it, you need drivers supplied by the oem, if any so far i've seen 3 cards work with it, powervr.. woohoo 500 fps in glxgears , or 30fps in ut2003 @ 400x300 res, ati 9000+, fast enough to run it at 1024x768 but all sorts of glitchs when not even running anything 3d, and nvidia geforce+ works rather well, same fps as windows. I've read someware a long time ago that carmack has plans for a linux port but will be basicly nvidia only, my guess same problems as ut2003
thrue BitTorrent it started off at 20k/s then jumped to 150k/s, then again im on cable modem that gets about 350k/s, got to love living in a small town that has cable inet, esp when no one knows they have it
well doom, quake and 99% of fps is about running around killing things, venting rage and such. I dont even like solving the little puzzles they put in them, I just want to shoot things for 30 min. when I want something to think about I start a rpg of some sort
you can pick up a used xbox for about 150 even new one for 200, last I heard the pc version will require a rather expensive video card, but even then I suppose the xbox version will be rather crappy compared to the pc one, not just that the screen is stuck at 640x400 and interlaced at that, but im sure many effects will be left out to get a decent fps out of it. The xbox version is not marketed for pc users, but for console users
