What about spec benchmarks? I know ppc is a fast chip but I just dont think it's as fast as it used to be. Along with moto's reluctance to put out literally anything lately makes me very concerned about the future of the chip. There's only so many ways you can repackage year old technology, apple.. aside from the xserve is struggling in the hardware department. The price goes up but the performance doesn't. That being said, I own a 933g4 powermac, I bought it about three months ago, it's system bus is slower than the pc system I built last year, just a bit discouraging.

Look at the top of the bandwidth food chain and you'll see why things cost so much. Teleco's have their lines locked down and can pretty much extort however much they feel like, especially when busineses are now at the point where the internet and networks are essential to compete. Along with the high cost for the proper infrastructure hardware to keep things running smoothly and allow for growth. It's a very slow moving animal but it constantly creeps forward.

I too considered an s2000 I still am, but it's an awful lot of work to drive with a tach that goes to 9k you cant expect a smooth torque curve in a "low emissions vehicle" I've driven the older vtec integra's (gsr? gst?) and you only start having fun above about 4000 rpm in that car.
