So they're aligned to something..it happens to be north so some theories are developed. It's a conceited attitude to have. They built 'em that way because they wanted to. No matter which way the pyramids were built we'd find something to align them to and postulate bs theories. They must be aligned to south as well...or my house. I'm sure some modelling and theory could prove it.

  5. Only in the US...hopefully on Internet Usage Records Accessible Under FOI Laws · · Score: 1

This is nuts... Even if it's allowable under the law....shouldn't the judge have asked " What do you really want" "and here's the records kept of all the books each student took off the shelf to peruse.....and take your dick out of your hand in my courtroom "

  6. Re:In the UK on MP3s In Foreign Countries · · Score: 2

I'd echo those comments for Australia. It's a bit annoying when some case in the US affects what you can do here...sort of ironic that a medium supposed to cross borders and remove international boundaries has had the opposite effect in this case(or at least the potential to). Then again, if those servers were in Aus and the parent company was here..... our artists are busy fighting 'grey import' laws for cd's so I'm sure they'd have some say. The biggest problem we'd face down here is whatever Murdoch and Packer's opinion on the subject was would form itself into a federal law to protect their interests..the price you pay for idiotic media ownership laws that let rich media barons run the place.

  7. Not childs play on Worst Band In The Universe · · Score: 1

I've never seen a kid crack that 11th Hour book - and I've seen it stump a heap of adults.(Nothing like sitting around on Christmas Day watching a bunch of adults trying to crack a kids book - sorry kids, you can have it later). Definately one for the christmas list. Base does great quality kids books that fit the Lewis Carroll criteria nicely.

  8. Re:So "open" and "free" are only good sometimes ? on Carnivore Demo Report · · Score: 1

This has nothing to do with guns. The taxpayer funded organisations couldn't exist on your taxes alone. In essence as an individual you fund nothing. All those other taxpayers do have a right to ensure that you or anyone else does not infringe their rights. What do you suggest...they should get a gun as well? Better to be safe and sure. Why let criminals get away by exploiting privacy laws when most people have nothing to hide ? If you really believe in secrecy then be secret. The net just isn't the place...and hopefully there will be less and less places. Freedom = openness.

  9. So "open" and "free" are only good sometimes ? on Carnivore Demo Report · · Score: 1

I don't want someone to see what I'm doing...but I want to see their source code ? Open is open and free is free. What is this ? Half the time closed source and "binary only" gets bashed but then all communications should be closed ? More than a bit hypocritical. There are heaps of options for secure communications...the internet isn't one of them. Why demand someones code be freely available but allow all else to be anonymous and hidden ?

Any arrogant engineers who really think they could pull this stunt off, or even believe that others could do it, deserve no more than the half-arsed web page they've already got.
