Some of us don't use the music store. See, iTunes also has this neat feature where it can organize and sort your music and all kinds of other nifty stuff. In the next version there's even rumors it will PLAY music too!!!
Why in $diety's name is this modded insightful? Telling someone to fork the project themselves when they complain about something is equivalent to the "I'd like to see you do better!" defense when you say someone can't sing/act/dance/play an instrument/etc.
Not everyone is a programmer, and not everyone has the know how (or the time/desire to gain the knowhow) to work on GNOME/any other OSS project themselves.
The idea is the developers take input from those who CAN'T develop, but DO use the software, and make adjustments accordingly.
Except a mugger doesn't come up to you on the street and have the following transpire:
Mugger: Good afternoon sir, I am from First Credit Union. Our mortga!!!!ge division has app$roved you for a new low rate of 5%! Please give me your credit card information to finalize this off##er. Victim: *hands over CC*
I'd used NS from 2.0 through 4.0, then to IE 4/5/6 for a short time while NS suffered lack of updates, and then back to Mozilla around version.8, now on Firefox
Some of us had computers that we sat on when we came in from being outside enjoying youth
I may be totally off here but... I think one of the reasons the OS X desktop is so nice is CONSISTANCY. Apple's design guidelines are followed by developers 99% of the time. Everything looks polished. All the icons are consistant - there aren't still a few 256 color ones thrown about as in Windows XP. By throwing out OS 9 completely, they were able to design the look from the ground up - ensuring it was consistant.
at the local wawa i stop in for breakfast (jersey shore area), most times I can get money out in $10 denominations - the only time I can't is (obviously) when the machine is out of $10 bills
You people seriously baffle me sometimes. You seriously think Uncle Sam is gonna come knocking on your door because you use LAME inside the USA? Trust me, I doubt you'll be the first.
As for trade secrets, anti-circumvention rights, etc, what exactly do you plan to DO with your iPod? Install a Linux iPod manager, copy your files in your format of choice (from AAC/MP3/aiff/wav/etc) and just listen to your damn music.
The government doesn't give a shit how you encode your music, or how you listen to it.
And it is slowly finally happening
Most laptops from major companies like Dell require you to pay extra for an external floppy. All of apple's machines don't have floppies anymore.
Although, really, theres nothing quite as simple as the drag-and-drop small file transfer they provided, except maybe USB keys.
i don't want to feel like i'm back on my c64 where you had to go make a sandwich while waiting for your game to load.
If you played a lot of games, you must be one fat fat man by this point
What Sony hasn't said for sure is whether the PS3 will be backwards compatible with DVD movies and PS2 games.
Isn't always keeping backwards compatibility to the previous system what got MS in to the DLL hell mess it's in now??
Oh, yeah. I forgot you can't code OSS apps for mac.
The 15 and 17 powerbooks have a backup battery that lasts about 5 minutes or so. It enables you to swap batteries out without shutting down.
From what I've heard, while QuickTime is Mac code running on a Carbon layer for Windows, iTunes is a native port.
No.
1. There's two title bars. The windows one with the "_ [ ] X" buttons and then the (X)(-)(+) one from the Linux.
2. How do I know the second title bar is Linux? The controls are on the right side.

Where is their DRM being tampered with here? All this is doing is running a Windows app on a different platform
Yeah well I have QUAD xenon 4.2ghz cpuis with 9gbs of memory!
my e-penis is bigger than your e-penis!

And let's not forget the not one but two (three?) annoying as hell maze sequences in Max Payne.
If i hadn't had 5.1 to be able to listen where the screams/cries were coming from, I never could have finished them.
No, Dashboard that reimplements the original desk toys idea better than Arlo did

meh, netscape and kickass were words that went together in 1996
now i think netscape, i think bloat
mozilla is today what netscape was years ago, and when you add the netscape monicker, that just brings the image of quality downward
why does the post read like this is the first NS release ever since Mozilla was founded?

Playing nice may win hearts, but it doesn't win shareholders
Arlo did something
Apple thought they could do it better
Speaking of blue iPods, whatever happened to HP's version of it?
Engraving has been free about as long as I can remember... they say it's a special but i dont remember it NOT being free
